Haha! mine is probably the other one off the same skyline

yea well im only running 16 - 17 psi so that would add up to 20kw easy

you can run that much boost with pump fuel ok?? ... thats quite a lot!

I need to add octane booster with the tune where it is now - I use Nulon Pro Strength.

Remember too - that my car is a 1.8L 3T GTE (8 valves).

I think that given the extra boost your car would make more power.
    YelloRolla's KE20 1/4mi = 11.32 @ 119mph @ 22psi on slicks
    12.44 @ 113 mph on 165 wide street tyres
210rwkw - not bad for a smelly 3TGTE running pump fuel.

How do these GTR paired ones compare to the standard versions of the turbos? I would've thought they'd be considerably smaller, I'd have thought that it would spank the 200rwkw mark on a 1G.

As far as I can tell yes. Mechanically they seem the same

    ???????? wish i knew

i think slight drewback is; its a turbo designed for a 1.3 engine (ie half an rb26) and its now on a 2.0 engine so housings are a little small

the GTR turbos are also expecting zorst pulses slightly further apart (in time) .. so you could argue they're being pushed to the upper limits of shaft rpm.

It would be interesting to out a turbo tacho on it to find out.

A pair of HKS2540 on a GTR with the right engine package is capable of Mid 300 to low 400 RWKW figures at all 4 so the turbo is not likely to be your issue at only 170kw. More boost should also bring it on harder sooner so you may start to make that 170kw closer to where Jason's does. What I would love to see is yours and asons power curves overlayed against each other on the one graph. If you both enter Dyno Day 14 which is closer than you would think (January 21st) I can arrange this.

Given you have more Cubes and the inccreased efficiency and air speed of a multivalve head as compared to ye old 3TGTE I think you have not yet begun to tap its potential. A basically stock 1G with that sort of boost has been shown to make 170kw in some cases. Have you checked your pressure drop accross the intercooler or your exhaust back pressure ?

I'd be tempted to lay money that your stock 1G intercooler is struggling, what sort of intake temps are you getting ?? If you add more boost are they stable or rising ? Its quite possible that more boost will equal less power if your peaking the flow already.

I think what you have is a great start and will be awesome once you get it all sorted. Its really good to see someone else looking at developing a 1G and sharing the feedback. Hell at 170kw its 20kw more than I am chasing with mine........... For now

havnt got to any real indepth testing on all those things, as its not my main project its just a bit of an update for my dayley driver... first thing would be a basic compression test

plus my boost has never been stable still getting the controll settings sorted

a few posts back there is a link to my dyno graph, ill try pasting a link .. dunno if it works
