    Spot on dude

boost peaked at 11.5 PSI (at the plenum) It was a front sump gen 3 1G with the factory thermo switch in the thermostat housing.

Speaking of Stock 1G's tho, there was an article onthe differences between the Gen 1, 2 and 3 bu of course I can't find the fucker. Just tryingto work out what 1G i am puttingin the current RA28 project. Its allegedly out of a GA70 Supra.

'Allo all. I is back. I've just read all this thread, and now i'm more depressed My car made 164rwkw @ 17psi with a factory ECU, and now it makes ~168rwkw @17.5psi with an ECU. Same dyno as Pube's made 170rwkw too. Hmm, I've got some more research to do.

    Nathan,

I have been thinking about this allot, and have been inspired to get into the 1G RA28 project (Since everyone lese has one anyway )

If the Turbo's are peaked at around the 17PSI mark or your intercooler pipework is becoming a restriction at 17PSI (Ie more boost makes the intake air temps rise) which they were, it tends to suggest that its one of those that is holding it back from making more power. If your already at the Turbo's maximum flow (forget maximum efficiency) and more boost reduced the peak number, which it did then the aftermarket management has done all it could, ie wonders for the fuel consumption and driveability BUT there was no flow gains left in the rest of the system ?

If its was already at 100% then the improved management didn't stand a chance. Is anyone making more than 170 od on stock Turbo's ? And if so what size intercooler and pipework ?

    Just thoughts.

I don't suppose anyone has compressor maps for the CT12 Turbo's on the 1G ????

    Josh,

I never would have sold the first one i built if we hadn't lifted the carpet and seen my garage floor

    7MA61,

Yeah its got the Blits Turbo's but who says they are any better than a Gen 3 1G-GTE factory Set up ? I have seen nothing to confirm and performance differences between them ? Anyone compared them ?

Well I just pulled out my turbos today and re-read this tread. There are significant differences between the stock turbos and the blitz. For starters the Blitz turbos are physically bigger. They also have a different impeller design. Here is some more info from a blitz catalogue.

"The impeller diameter (core component of this bag turbo) is enlarged by 17%, and its precision balance is improved 10 times. The compressor housing is made of new material and specially heat treated to improve durability by 44%"

Anyway’s picture tells a thousand words so here are some pics. The dirtier turbo is the stick gen 3 ct12.

Anyways Nathan (JCMF) Sorry to hear about your result. I was hopping you will be the first to crack 200rwkw with a 1ggte using CT12's.I don't get it how one 1ggte almost stock except the basic mods (Pube 1ggte) can pull 170rwkw and JCMF has better turbos and a Standalone ECU and pulls less.

There is another 1ggte.. (SIKTOY's) on here as well that with just a standalone ECU and exaust pulled 177rwkw on 16psi. Everything else stock inlcuding the cooler. So piping can't be that much of a problem

Why are there so much variations in power on the 1g's

This is making me doubt that I will pull 170rwkw out of mien with an Auto trans....

The only comparison I have is KirK's 196rwkw from his Blitz BAG ones. My inlet temps are actually fairly decent considering, so I can't see it being my intercooler and/or piping.

The only restriction I can think of is my exhaust as I mentioned in my PM, with the 2.5" section between the cat and the muffler, both of which are 3".

What is Dave's stance with the ignition timing usually? Fairly conservative or fairly aggressive? I'm not passing judgement, just getting a feel for it, I've not yet looked at the timing maps.

Regardless, once the low load stuff has been settled it will be fun. It's more responsive now than with factory setup, removing the AFM has enabled it to come on boost that much quicker.

Was KirK also using a standalone or? What EMS did u go with Nathan... i always knew the AFM in the 1g was just a useless restriction....

KirK had a Microtech LT12S. I ended up going for an Adaptronic. It's still a little bit of a work in progress as we found out, but at least by talking to Andy you can get stuff happening.
