Yep that sounds good to me man, will see how it goes. I will post up the results on here when i get on to doing it all, and the dyno sheet

    Cheers, James

I only just got a new t/belt fitted about 10,000ks ago with new tensioners etc. So it will be a while before i will bother about checking that, It should be fine for ages.

Not since the BHG, and it was still fine from when I did the timing belt in the first place 15000km before that.

I have to say once Josh stopped laughing and pointed out how "complex" a set up the 1G had I was less than impressed, Even the 2T-G has a Hydraulic Timing chain tensioner WTF were Toyota thinking I mean seriously who fits a timing belt tensioner that needs routine manual tensioning ! What a POS

Time for a bit of an Update.

My RA28 was back on the Dyno today to finish the tune in the Xede and set the cam gears, We needed to make sure the settings suited the replacement Turbo's (S/H Stock Gen 3 Items - Thanks Josh) and the bigger injectors.

At least for my car its now official, a stock 1G just can't make more than 190 od RWKW through the stock Turbo's.

The new injectors, Xede and the Adjustable Cam Gears give me more than enough area's to maximise the result. Now that there is no boost cut it will happily make over the 1.25 bar it runs now but with increased boost it actually loses power (As seen on Dyno day where it was running 1.35bar) The simple theory is that the Turbo's and manifold are currently the engines biggest restriction and no further development will see gains as a result of that. Which to be honest is what I expected.

Admitedly it was hot in the Dyno cell today (33-38 degrees C) but a consistant 190rwkw is the final result. Thats it for me now, nothing other than routine maintenance. Its next upgrade will hopefully not be till the TA22 is registered (at least 12months away) and then it will be getting a single turbo conversion.

My "stock" 1G development curiosity is done.

What sort of torque figures did you get?

Does wnyone have any idea how much difference a well matched single turbo would have on the torque output of the 1g? and driveability?

Thats an interesting result. Obviously the Exede will give you a much smoother curve and economy but really on the standard turbos the ecu isn't the limiting factor for peak power.

How does that compare with Stews beast when it was running the single and standard ECU? It would be interesting to compare the two plots and see where the respective gains are made. A good starter for those modding on a tight budget.

    Anthony,

If your modding a 1G on a tight budget then I strongly recomend spending your $$ on a Good free flowing exhaust, and good quality intercooler pipework with a decent intake. And thats It !

My car makes the same numbers now as it did the first time it hit the Rollers. The twin dumps are a nice upgrade fort boost responce so I would deffinatly include them in the Exhaust. Otherwise leave the rest till you stuff the factory Twins and put a decent Turbo on it. The initial attention to detail and time spent making the pipework on mine flow well was deffinatly worthwhile and that alone peaked the Factory Turbo's.

The factory Gen 3 package is actually well matched, the Injectors are peaked at basically the same power as the turbo's and the boost cut matches them both nicely. Blakes 1G with SIngle turbo made 195rwkw on the Dyno here. It was also runing stock AFM, Stock ECU ad Stock Injectors.

Bang for your Buck a "stock" 1G Gen3 with good breathing mods is deffinatly the answer.

My trans is auto which does give lower reading but still... 130rwkw from what I seen on toymods and what I done to the car is pathetic. Out of curiosity what should I be looking for to be at fault to cause it to be down on power?
I changed all my leads, cleaned the injectors did all the bells and whistles...apart from like everyone’s 1G running rich there are no problems with the engine but why so down on power????? Ohh it’s a gen3 1g as well.

Hey Labolica was the Hks Bov the SSQV one or... cause I just put one on so want to know if I need to be worried. Also are you using a Ebc or bleed valve. My boost use to drop to 12psi wit the crappy bleed valve up top.

Pube what did you do to yours to get 170rwkw...its obviously manual gen3 1g. Did u put a piggyback on it or anything else..really curious.

I am going back on the dyno soon with a safc neo and a EBC instead of shit Bleed valve...All I want is 170rwkw out of her with the auto trans... How much would that come up in a manual equipped car...180rwkw???

Also I am going to have a play with the AFM spring tension on the dyno and see what it does and I’ll get back to you with the info.

hey mate how are you .... im a noob to this site i got my 1ggteu soarer about two months ago put new pluggs in as it was running only 5cyl and a shitty 6PSI dyno readout from two weekends ago is 167.1KW all i have done is GFB controller 14psi and pod filter 3 inch zorst .....everything else is stock and its an auto and at time of the dyno i had a split in controller hose ..... the fella i got it off had the head reco'd and turbos reco'd and atm it has an oil drip in cylinder so if you ever see me on the rd you'll know its the one that puff's like a pot head at take off lol

as for futre mods i'm going fmic .. 7m injectors as the guys here say they are the goods and fuel pump ect ... my aim is not in killer wasps tho i just want a bit more grunt ill get readouts up here for you when all is done

hehe killer wasp, well update, i am putting a manual in mien, sick of the auto, getting beaten by hyndai unless i launch of the converter, and also I got fresh engine with low low kays to go in, still golden brown on the inside ... I think my engine is just tired after 5 years of trashing...but 167kw is excellent for an auto...my engine has had it goes trough 2 litre of oil every 3000kms and i don't give it shit that much any more......been busy with work so not much time to do an engine and gearbox swap, I let you all know how it goes... thanks for the updates Toyman
