i know the comp droppers are 1.2mm and the ones that bump up your CR are .8mm and im pretty sure 0.040" is a replacement size which is.. oh fuck i was wrong 1.02mm but seriosly i thought that, i have no evidence but.

Sorry i meant 7afe, but yes apparently the headgasket is .8mm from the factory which is thinner than a 16v 4age HG from factory (1mm) but have the same oil/water/bore and bolt holes aka are a match, therfore is you own say a ae92 sx/gti with a 4age, you can bump the compression up on the cheap by buying a factory replacement 7afe HG instead of a "cometic/TRD ect" .8mm head gasket.

I'd like to meet the guy, cant believe everything you hear till its from the mouth (no offence) i know 300kW is easily doable on a stock bottom end with a 4age.. maybe he underated the toyo factory gear by mistake

seen a dyno sheet from a guy over in NZ with a 4agte hatch, pushing 32psi though stock gze internals with a blacktop head making in excess of 350kW at the front treads so its deffs doable.

He blamed the tuner for blowing the block. They had a difference of opinion on fine tuning.. as he was the mechanic/drift racer & not the expert, he trusted the tuner against his own better judgemnet & BAMMO! ...lived to regret it..

Standard headgaskets are more than adequate... As the guys have said something else is busted and it isn't the headgaskets fault.

I've always had the opinion it is far better to blow a headgasket than destroy a head / block.

Sounds like he's going from 8.0:1 early GZE pistons to the 8.9:1 GZE pistons, which will definitely change his compression ratio....

..Is it true that turbo d & supercharged engines should run lower compression ratios?
I'm running a sc14 so is there any danger or anything I need to know about, running the 8.9:1 CR & sc14?

nah its pretty right, you only lower the compression on a turbocharged engine to get the turbo into its efficiency range at "x" amount of revs ect..

in which.. 14-17psi with the sc14 is really childs play in terms of what they can handle with supporting internals/fueling
