I had a similar problem with the o2 sensor, don't do what I did, fix one thing at a time.
could be,or it could be koz its 19 years old and approaching 200k ks, or it could also be because i have a tendancy to run metho in my fuel which i believe kills oxy sensors...either way the turbo is on my list of "to replace with high performance parts" list...only earing $8 an hour means i cant just buy a new garrett koz i fouled an oxy sensor koz my turbo is dieing![]()

yeah man it cost me $90 it was actually made by one of NGKs sub companies..NTK i think it was...its alot smaller than the stock unit too.
ok cool thanks.. 4 wire?
if it's smaller I assume you had to get some welding done on the flange?

nah mate single wire, the plate/flange is the same size, but the length is alot shorter, the stocky sticks like 10-15 cm out of the cat before going to wire while the replacement is only around 5 cm tall before going to wire
ah cool well I'll ask autobarn what they've got in 4 wire thanks!

i think karl has a 4 wire sitting around doing nothing mate
Pretty much every repco or sprints or bursons will have 4wire O2 sensors in. The only difference is the wattage of the warming coil.

hey guys. im probably having the same problem actually.
DV, where did u get ur Oxy sensor from? im gona get my 3" DP installed soon and will prob get the O2 sensor done at the same time. i think my turbo seals my be going too, had a look in there the other day and there is a bit of oil around the compressor wheel entry etc. any quotes on a rebuild?
can u give me a part number for the o2 sensor??
(ive got the st165 too)
on another note, DV im lookin in ur direction, does the st165 use the same brake pads as the st185?
mate i got mine from auto one, cost me around $90 and they had them in stock, that alone told me they shouldnt be too hard to find..considering it took them a month to get in a workshop manual for my mates oldies chrystler (sp?), just ask for a O2 sensor to suite a 165..if they say nup, reply with 185? if still nup, reply with mr2 turbo?, should be able to get one no probs lol, as for the turbo rebuild i was qouted ~700 for a rebuild on a ct26 and around 1400 for a rebuild and high flow.Originally Posted by carsanactra
the 165 pads are diff to the 185s, they use twin pot callipers instead of the 185s bigger single pot.. pads werent THAT hard to find, just go to a good break place, i cant remember the breed of the pads i got but they cost me a pretty penny, the only problem with the 165s are there are 2 different sets of front callipers and pads, the non abs ones, and about 30 165s were made with abs im lead to believe, im unlucky enuff to have abs in the sense that my choices on pad are very limited, but lucky to have abs because they outbreak everything i have ever been in.
hey man after rummaging around in that garbage dump i call a boot for about 15 mins i found the box for the O2 sensor, its an NTK and the part number is 0ZA401-E70, my pads were also bendix metal kings, i know bendix made a hi-po option for both of the types of 165 pad
awsome, thanks for that DV!!
on the other note, as i said ive got my 3" DP waiting to go in, if im not mistaken, u have urs done too dont u DV??
how noticeable is the difference? did u have any probelms with boost spikes? should i be looking at a boost controller?
hey man no problems, a little rep for the help wouldnt be unnapreciated though (hint) lol, anyway mate i dont have a 3 inch dp, ive got the stock cat and 2.75 inch behind that, but piggy on these forums has 3 inch turbo back on his 165 (he only lives a few streets from me) and he didnt have any problems with boost spiking without a controller. his feels alot smoother through the range and pulls harder up top than mine does...his power will slowly wind on through the range and pull fairly strong all the way through, where as mine will start spooling, then snap ur neck off at 3 grand and run out of puff and start loosing boost around 4500-5500. at the same boost levels his makes more ponys per rev than mine does, but for some reason his feels doesnt feel to pick up any more power after u wind it past 9 psi.
cool sounds good.
is his exhaust very noisy? thats one thing im trying to avoid so im keeping my muffler the same rather than going a cannon.
