I'm using MA70. Yeah the rear is still a bit high but lower than stock.

    Yup I paid $220 for 4 springs.

MRZ: Did you use rav4s for the front?

I put my rear kings in a few weeks ago with the standard blown shocks and it has lowered it quite a lot, there is still a bit of room above the wheel but my muffler and tow bar is very close to the road so I dont think I would want it to be any lower. I got my mate to get me the rav4s for $110 each but I havent had enough time to put them in so my cars going to be draging its arse for some time.

    Hey Huz

Yeah I used RAV4 shocks on the front. But you need a shock spacer, its basically a big washer that you put inside the housing and put the shock inside on top of it. Theres more things to unbolt and mess around with when I did my front. When you put the top thing on for the shock to hold the spring theres and arrow to point it toward the wheel. I had to line it up a bit first before putting it back in. I also marked on one of the bolts on the top mount to know which hole to put it back in.

    Hi Mark

So what is the impression handling wise??

RIde height should settle a little over just a few 1000kms with new springs and shocks.

    Hi Andrew

Handling wise, wayyyyy better than stock. It is a good setup for a daily car. Big thanks to you for letting us know about using the MA70 rear and Rav4 fronts. It is a good replacement for the stock ones.

And a new pic of the car taken today still waiting for ride height to settle.

how long does it take for the springs to settle in?
have just installed low king springs in the rear and cant see much of a difference
or is there a way to settle them in quicker? bags of cement haha?

usually over a week of driving it will settle to its ride height
dont expect much though - usually only 5-10mm

I got some King Springs and Bilstein shocks to go into mine. Got the rears in, but the front aren't in yet.

Mind you, my car came with Pedders coilovers in the car which were absolutely shit. I'm sure they would've handled nicely on the track, but the car was so low it was undrivable.

just got quoted $430 to reco my 2 rear bilstein shocks the other day.

actually it wasnt a quote i was quoted 270 then they rang 2 weeks later and said "we finished and it cost a bit more coz they were fucked, so the price now is $430"

they got a bit ansy when i told them no thanks.

im thinking now some ma70 coilovers in the back and the rav 4 doobies in the front.

all the cressies i have seen with ma70 shocks and king lows still look too high in the back for my liking.

also with coilovers that have adjustable stuff i can change settings for drags, and put the height up a bit for towing etc...

so if anyone wants some recoed bilsteins for 430 let me know.
