Do they have a flow bench though River? Or do the use the suction method to work out some flow?

Just wondering what peoples experience has been with the DCOE style ITBs
    such as:
    http://www.jenvey.co.uk/home/twin-th...oe-style-tb45i
    http://www.injectionperfection.com.a...nt/view/21/71/
    http://www.efihardware.com/products/...hrottle-bodies
    http://www.borla.com/products/induct...leBody-FR.html

They seem like a very cool item. Would having the injector further from the port cause any drama?

I've got a set of old HKS 40mm DCOE throttles on a big bore manifold, but haven't set them up on an engine yet.

They use mikuni phh shafts, butterfly valves and seals so I can get replacement easily enough.
I'm thinking of having them bored out to 44mm using the Mukuni 44mm parts.

Fired up my RG for the first time since swapping the head today. I seem to be having some idling issues and not the ones i expected. Myvengine is taking ages to return to idle speed after releasing the accelerator. I have weber 45 dcoe carbs that are pretty rat sh1t and are thinking they mayvbe the problem. Are there any other things that would extend the time for returning to idle? I still have the stock RG flywheel but this is more than a heavy flywheel issue. Could it be caused by a vacuum leak or could it be a timing issue? The carbies are returning to their stops okay also. I think one may have a twisted shaft though.
    Any thoughts?

    Hi,

I'm assuming when the engine revs it revs well and doesn't have any issues? It's more of a slow return to idle?

I'd be looking at the carbs. Maybe they aren't returning quickly or properly. Also check the idle jets.

How do the carbs look inside when you go from idle to WOT and back to idle (naturally with the engine off). Check the choke butterflys are not moving freely or partially closing up.

Find it hard to think an air leak or bad timing would cause this, assuming the engine shows no other sign of duress.

My first instinct tells me the throttle shafts are not balanced and the adjuster in the middle needs a fiddle.
Back off the idle screw and the balance screw and let the shafts all go fully home. Adjust the balance screw so that the shafts are in alignment, then adjust the idle screw up 3 flats. Start the engine and check the balance of all the throttles using a balance meter. I just use vacumm tube in my ear holding it in the choke making sure the noise is the same (old school) then adjust your idle to suit.
Rev it up then see what happens... Failing that I'd be checking floats, needle&seats, venturies&chokes are tight etc. Oh and vacumm advance on the dizzy might be holding the timing up.

Thanks guys, I'll check the balance between the carbs. Now i think about it the balance maybe out as the previous head the intake was used on had a bent valve and may have been adjusted to compensate. Oh and there's no vacuum advance setup at this stage as there's no allocation on the weber carbs.

What fuel pump are people using with the Solex carbs? My block is 18rgeu so there is no lobe for driving a mechanical one. Is it possible to run an electric pump without a FPR? Is 2psi correct pressure?

Carter "Green" 4070 rotary electric fuel pump is the way to go. It delivers 70 GPH at 4psi. High volume / low pressure - just the thing for Weber, Dellorto, Solex side draught carbies. You will need to instal a high quality fuel filter on the suction side (i.e. between tank & pump) to maintain longevity.
