Very interested in doing this to the 28.
    After digging a little…

    From Page 4

From Measurements a S13 Balljoint will press into a GH Sigma LCA, have ball joint and LCA but havent pressed together yet.

GH Sigma LCA +30mm compare to RA23 LCA, front link and sway bolts line up.

S13 Spindle -20mm compared to RA23 Spindle (ball joint to Wheel mount flange with brake rotor in place)

    From Page 5

S14 LCAs are about 15-20mm longer than S13. Though S13 and S14 balljoint tapers are different.

So S14 LCA with S14 5stud hubs is another way to go about it. S13 coilovers fit S14 hubs.

That'd be a track increase of 60-70mm either side too. Sick, but may adversely affect some form of handling.

And I have no idea about bump steer.

So, if Im correct, a (possibly overly complex) combo to use on a RA28 would be –

A GH Sigma LCA (To get away from the 60-70mm track increase) with a

    S13 Ball joint with a

    S13 Hub with a

    S14 Coilover strut.

    And teh massiv brakes.

    Thoughts?
    New research?
Flames for dragging up an old thread?

but does a s13 balljoint fit into a signma LCA? i doubt it.

you can however get magna balljoints into a sprinter LCA, i have done it but didnt use them in the car as the track was slightly narrower than standard.

    bumping this up again..

someone had mentioned (recently?) that the offset between ball joint and tie rod end for AE86 steering arm is 16.2mm (offset when looking from front)
has anyone measure that distance for the S13/S14 stuff?

also, has anyone looked at the WGC34 RWD stagea front bits? they look similar to the S13/14 but not sure which yet.

also, length of the steering arm, from ball joint to tir rod end, looking from side of car, for AE86 nonPS= 135mm, and PS =115mm, any ideas on lengths for S13/14?

    heya Dan,
    any followup on this?

I will be doing this conversion also in the near future, and I'm thinking that I'll use the MX62 LCA, but it'll come down to trial and error as I have a KE70 R&P setup in mine also and I'm not sure if using the AW11 rack end will work with that like it does on the AE86 setups...

if you are using a ke70 rack and pinion does that mean you are using the whole crossmember?
if you are then just use S13 lca, mx83 inner rack ends and bluebird tie rod ends. too easy!

Won't that affect the akerman angle on an RA28?

Will using an S14 Coilover change any of the other parts that are needed for this conversion? (Ie. Hubs, etc?)

14mm bolts in the uprights, so either drill out the upright to suit or use some thin spacers in the struts (i prefer the drilled option)

and just to confirm my thoughts on this suspension setup in any toyota ever made = shitest idea ever.

i did it to my own car once and could never fix the shithouse handling it caused, properly built coilovers + decent brakes is a much better idea.

I think I lost you with the uprights part, but as long as it will work, then purchase some new coils I shall be doing!

The reasons I wan't to do this is that it would be an improvement in suspension (not huge, but still improved) and the R32 and R33 Brake Setups bolt up without the need for expensive adapeters/machining that costs almost as much as the coilovers themselves...
