Also, its not the spline length which makes them less usable, its the fact that they are 4x100 not 4x114.3
I'm going to refute the above statement - There is no such thing as a "tough as guts" T series diff or axle.Originally Posted by ae86drift

Sorry dudes! I mixed up the rare/common ratio bit. Will edit my post to correct it.
Eddie.
4agte finally completed. 234rwkw @ 8125rpm. Tis fun
The Aussie build MS55 and MS65 had Holden diffs, not Borg Warner. Holden actually built them for AMI under contract. They were a 3.9 ratio course spine diff and still had "Holden" stamped into various parts. Basically the same assembly as HT Holden except for ratio. Any Holden banjo centre will fit as long as you use course spline star gears. These are the models that have the much sort after front hubs for the Supra five stud conversion.
Never seen a Crown with a Borg Warner diff??
BTW AMI stands for Australian Motor Industry they assembled some Crowns, Coronas and Corollas. They even assembled Rover vehicles.
They pretty much took a good car and ruined it "for Australian conditions".
Cheers,
Shane.

hello
<1973 TA22 manual had 4.1:1, D series 6.67" rear end
>=1973 TA22 manual had 4.1:1, T series 6.7" rear end
4.3:1 T differential was available in TA23 auto as an option only.
Every australian TE72 liftback (T-18) I've seen is 3.9:1.
theres the answer i wanted

the ratio / sizing info brettles here has been referring to is the chart available from the Toysport website.
Unfortunately this information doesnt hold for the "new style" gearbox / diff codes that Toyota has been using since the early 90's.... this includes the A series diffs now used in the Hilux and Supra.
Basically - if it's 1990 or newer, disregard the chart above
Now, some use[less] info from Teh Witzl!
# RN2* Hilux = 1370mm width, will measure drum size tonight
# RN4*/YN4* Hilux = 1410mm width, unsure of drum size (i think 8"?)
# UZS131 Crown = G series, IRS, G474 code iirc, non-LSD
# AE71/KE70 = ghey bog warmer, 1410mm width, p00
# TE72 (aka T18) = T sereies, 3.9:1 ratio, open centre, 1410mm width
*****NOTE: AE71/KE70 driveline is BOLT IN replaceable with TE72 T-series gear (you need TE72 gbox, tailshaft and diff)
...... butt scratcher?!
can anyone tell me the presise width of the MS112 diff.
so far ive read of 3 different disk-to-disk widths![]()
need to know if width will come close to the RA40 width.
