hay dude was it an engineer who told you that the ta23 must be cut off its floor pan and welded to an r33 floor pan for the purpose of legality or just a bloke who recons the celica will handle like crap with a 2j you can buy a louver from ebay I got one a few months ago brand new pictures need to be uploaded to somewhere like photobucket.com and the links posted here

    Cheers,

This should be interesting, looking forward to pics.
I think my favourite part of this post was where do I get a louver from, I think your a little far from that if your doing the 2JZ 4WD swap. but hey its good to plan ahead

    GOod luck with the build.

Don't worry - the logical order of progression is:

    1. Learn to post images on a forum
    2. Source rear-louvres
    3. Cut a classic car in half and weld the top to an awd taxi from Japan
    ...
    4. Danger to manifold?

They have to accrew enough for nose reconstructions as well as feeding his mime family. The dont talk much so they never need much water for their dry mouths.

I did some simple Math for what you simply proposed. Even if this isnt exact it prooves a point to what your proposing to simply try.

    RA23 GT

    Wheelbase 2,407 mm (94.75 in) [2]
    Length 4,170 mm (164.2 in)
    Width 1,600 mm (63.0 in)
    Height 1,300 mm (53 in) [

    R33 GTR

    Wheelbase 2,720 mm (107.1 in)
Length 4,720 mm (185.8 in) (sedan)
    Width 1,720 mm (67.7 in)
Height 1,360 mm (53.5 in) (sedan)

Guy has a vision and just needs to work through the detail.

I'm sure he'll get there in the end and realise he has better options.

Or he might just give us a great big middle finger and do exactly what he is proposing.

I will be amused either way so thumbs up to our erstwhile colonial overlord. I salute you and your crazy scheme.

If you were a NSW politician you could fund all of this with only a few well placed brown paper bags.

Cant wait for the pic' s too and I think if anyone thinks this is going to be a goer you are giving him to much credit, as Celica77 has posted its a no go in my books, especially as simply as umar66 has stated it can be done ..

Basically in my eyes how to end up with a pile of bits after destroying 2 cars if it even gets that far !!

Also has he now abandoned the 2JZ in favour of a RB26 ?? or is the Skyline going to run a 2JZ

hi guys thanks for your replys . Jason the guy who should be carrying the work on my car said that the celica would handle rubbish unles i had it welded to the skyline, i have contacted west coast customs in America i am waiting for a reply, iv contacted a few companys and they said it can be done but it will require allot of fabrication a friend of my mine builds replica cars and said this can be done but will take abit of time and effort. celica77 i have collected all my finishing bits so that when i get to putting the car back together everything is there that is why i want to purchase a louver. i will be welding the celica to the skyline but the celica will look original from inside and outside but with my modifications of making the wings and quarters wider like the old bmw e30 m3 and with my one off bodykit and i will be putting a 2jz lexsmaz not a rb26 . thanks for all your replys and help but soon i should put up some picks and you will see the celica as a awd with the 2jz even if i have to get a custom gearbox and axles made i will but you will see a awd 2jz in a ta23

im pretty sure this will never happen as its a very big task

and worst case scenario what is your budget on this

you a probably better keeping your old celica std and valuable
and getting another car to cut up that does not involve so much work
cutting up bodies and converting a rwd car into 4wd will cost more than a cheap merc

there is a million things u will have to think about each step u go thru so u need to get a professional
to do this otherwise geometry and braking will be shocking
that's y its better to buy a 4wd that's already been done by a manufacturer

why not buy a gtr and make it look like a celica hehehe
it will cost half as much as making a celica drive like a gtr

so unless u have 60 to 80 grand in spare cash to do this job
and it might blow out to more then I don't know why this post is still going

To be fair, the guy doesn't know that this forum is predominantly made up of guys who own Avalons and are saving to convert them to rwd by chopping them in half and welding them to an AU falcon.

Retaining LPG & running tri-turbos is the main head-fuck.
