I fired mine up yesterday, video in my ride thread. Think the timing is still duff.
I have the maps from my microtech if you are interested in a little swapping for interests sake?
I went through and hand wrote every value for every screen, which isn't much for the mtx8.

Thats awesome! Thanks Adam!
I will sit down and go through it point by point and examine it. Already I think our crank values may be fundamentally different? Mine are presented in milliseconds, while yours are percentages? I will look at it again and confirm it.

Erm, dont bother...
Dont pay any attention to the settings on that MT in the video, because they are all pretty much wrong.
The fuel, timing correction and pump maps/settings are all over the place and will be screwing with fueling and ign adv something chronic.
I suggest you get that re-tuned by someone that knows what they are doing ASAP.
If you still want to persist with it yourself (which i do understand... i did), get yourself a decent WB02 setup, look at a lot of example MT settings and read the manual back to front a few times.
MT's are not easy to tune as some of the settings are so cryptic, and the manual is short on info![]()

I agree with MWP unfortunately Adams4AGTE.
I recommend getting someone to re-do it step by step. Your timing looks up the piss to begin with. Not to mention the pump settings, and correction values for timing.
I can talk you through it step by step sort of, but it will be hard without being there with you. I do recommend getting a wideband. I have used several different ones (Innovate LC1's are ok, TechEdge are alright too). Each type has its drawbacks. But if you want something a bit cheaper, I have tried the SLC from www.14point7.com and they read identical to my tech edge and innovate setups. So they cant be that bad.

thats what i told him on the phone... i didn't say that i was right i said it starts and that he would have to see what was the diff between my setup and his !!!!!!
so i said in the vid that the timing was wrong and i dont know y ???? when i turned it off and restarted it was at 22 deg but earlier it was sitting at 15deg ?????dont no y it changed ?????
any how it fine to criticize but if your not going to help then dont payout on those that TRY to![]()
so if you have some help please share
this is the first efi tune ive done and your right that its not wright but im trying
Cheers for that info,
I am hoping by looking at multiple maps I can start to understand them better. I am looking for an wideband o2 before I start driving the car. The tune on mine is of unknown origin but was supposedly working. Wait and see if/when I get the timing sorted.

As i started watching the vid, i was making notes on things that need to be fixed, but by the time i got 1/2 way through the vid i realised there is that much wrong there is no point.
You need to start from scratch with some basic correction maps, then get it on a dyno to properly tune the fuel & timing base maps.

Google...
There are a couple in here:

Crank, Water & Pumps listed by 1JZ-Rolla are a good starting point.
You still need values for the other correction maps though.
