    whats different about the wire colours? I have the MTX-8 wiring diagrams, but I bet that if yout MT wiring diagram is wrong, the mine is utterly useless to you...

    Maybe the colours are different, but function can be inferred from their position on the plug?

    Try these, I think you have a loom someone has played with. This is what I would do.

    16-way plug

    BATT +ve ----> red wire
    IGN +12V ----> pink wire (Also goes to fuel pump relay coil)
    GND ----> both brown wires
    AIR TEMP ----> black wire next to brown wires
    OXYGEN SENSOR ----> black wire with red stripe (not necessary, only for datalogging, etc)
    INJ #1 -VE ----> yellow wire
    INJ #2 -VE ----> orange wire
    INJ #3 -VE ----> yellow wire with black stripe
    INJ #4 -VE ----> orange wire with black stripe
    TPS SIG ----> grey wire
    TPS +5V ----> blue wire
    WATER TEMP ----> purple wire
    FUEL PUMP RLY ----> green wire (other coil terminal of fuel pump relay)
    AUX OUTPUT ----> white wire (possibly has a stripe, but should be only white wire there)
    AUX INPUT ----> blue wire with red stripe

    6-way plug

    IGN OUTPUT ----> grey wire with blue stripe (triggers ignitor, you keep your dizzy and leads)

    4-way plug

    GND ----> blue wire (possibly turns to black wire at other end and also grounds the cables screen)
    CRANK INPUT 1 ----> green wire
    CRANK INPUT 2 ----> red wire

    just remember to ground the other side of your water temp sensor to one of the brown ground wires, along with the TPS ground and the air temp sensor if you decide to use one (not required to run)
