15 psi is more then acceptable.
Whats the maximum and stable boost I can run on the caldina without spiking, or blowing up my engine??
Don't know how many psi is running now but cant be more than 7 psi, i was thinking on boosting up to 12-14 psi but don't know if the engine will take it.
what does everybody suggest?? is it safe? or whats the must recomendable amount of boost to run on it?
The Caldina is stock on setup.

From what I read I wouldn't go over 14-15 psi or else you might grenade the motor. The ST215 is weaker than the ST205 as I think it is the pistons that fail and so doesn't handle as much boost. Have a look at toyspeed.org.nz and see a few threads on there about what it can and can't handle. I plan on using 14 - 15 psi as my max
i thought it was the rods that were weak.
yeah rods are the issue.
from what i read its 8psi in 1st and 2nd then 12psi in 3rd and 4th.
I dont know if this is correct because i dont have a boost guage on mine yet.
cheers craig
yup, apparently 12psi in other than 1st/2nd stock anyway

just out of curiosity with the gen 4 3sgte, is it the rods that snap like black top 20v 4ag, or is it due to rod bolts?
for arguments sake if you say used some better rod bolts could this help the problem?
Not sure if it's different to the setup in the celica GT4s, but on those versions you can block off the T-VSV line to give you the same boost through all gears.
Unfortunately the line is what lets it run the higher boost in 3rd/4th/5th, so you're stuck with the lower setting, but can then bring it up with a boost controller and have it stable.
It's not too tricky - there's two lines running into the wastegate actuator - one from the compressor housing, and another one that goes around to under the inlet manifold - the second one is the one you need to block off.
Best guide I've seen is here.
Im not too familiar with the ST215 but the're a lot of 205 that have done this mod with no issues. Im sure it would be fine. just though I add my to cents
