We talking turbo or non turbo?
The 2jzgte autos are apparently stronger, larger / more clutch packs?... teh 7m would be a backwards step. Also 2jzgte a340e doesn't have a kick down cable, line pressure is ECU controlled...
Cheers

1. Can a 7M automatic be used on a 2JZ by swapping the bellhousing from a 7M to a 2JZ?
2. HAs anyone done a write up on how to swap the output shaft from rubber donut to slip yoke?
Many thanks.

You also have to take into consideration speed sensors and electrical connections
Jealousy is a curse
It is many years since I had the unfortunate experience of taking my car to a recommend automatic transmission specialist. Ever since then I have done my own automatic transmission diagnosis teardown and assembly. Just beacuse it is an A340 does not mean it is the same as another A340.
They have the same casing and gear ratios that is about all that is guaranteed to be the same. You have to look at them "side by side" to see what you have to do and if you can do it.

michael from mv automatics is usually very helpful even if its obvious you are just searching for info and wont give him your $$$
MX83 2JZ-GTE!!
#YOLO.
Michael was, as usual, incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. I also appreciate the help of the Toymods community.
BTW Jesse what did you do with the output of your tranny on your 2jzgte cressy? Did you use the slipyoke or the rubber donut?

theres some info there on swapping the output shafts....
hope it helps
What about a custom tailshaft?

Yeah. That is another good option.
I have been reading up on what outputs are required for the mx83 ABS and the various speed sensors used with the arsito ECU etc. It may be easier to geneate the signal for the MX83 ABS and the MX83 speedo from the Aristo gearbox sensors with a simple micro controller based frequency converter.
Then I just need a custom made front section of the drive shaft.
I will need to get under the car and make sure there are no clearance issues with the rubber donut also.
Does anybody know if the later model A340E suffers from the same slow shifting at WOT as the early ones.
