Twin pipes down one side might work, but I'd still probably prefer to run them down the middle then go off to the side at the end where it's likely to have less effect.

slightly OT but ive seen an R33 GTR with twin exhausts (ie, one each side) at the rear, looked great, distinctive too

I'm almost tempted to do it, I'd need to get enough inboard mufflers do to it though.

Dude, i'm waiting for the damn finance to come through, got held up over Stephs credit card for some whack ass reason.

For the record though, dunno if I'd wanna do it like yours, how long has it been off the road? Do you even have an exhaust?

no it wont - not on a jza80. the stock setup splits into two behind the transmission and comes under the rear cradle in two pipes already. then it joins back together as one behind the muffler - shape is like a diamond.

nath - seems i dont have any pics of my exhaust online. will see whati can do. need to hunt them down.

i seriously looked at doing this. i even have a spare fuel tank which i bought with a view to modifying it to allow that 2nd muffler. i went way more steps down this path than you realise, and have aborted it for a multitude of reasons

Kick ass Ed me boy. I thought you might've but I've been over all your threads a multitude of times, you've just never spoken about any of it. If you could dig out some pics I'd be most appreciative.

From what you're saying, I might be best basically doing the full twin exhausts as planned with a cross-pipe in the centre, and then join them to one side after it's past the rear cradle.

Nope. I'm not even friends with anyone who owns a JZA80. Then you've got the second issue, how many JZA80's don't even have a catback

That is basically the stock system... minus the front twin pipes for the v8.

Just replicate the stock system with larger pipes...

i may just trouble myself to take some pics of my stock exhaust system for you.
