Also, the fuel injectors -

These look like they're standard kit. They sure look and feel old and weighty enough. Can anyone confirm? Also, as for re-kitting these with a set of new seals, does anyone have any suggestions as to which injectors may share similar seals (obviously with the 18RGEU not being sold locally in any kind of volume, a seal kit won't be available) so I can order a complete kit?

Any help appreciated to get this old lump ready to drop in the car

These being top feed injectors 210cc, the replacement can be 4agze apparently, also early Mazda Rx7.
in saying that, any injector cleaner shop, will have the filters and seals available.
    Ebay has kits available.

Seems you have sorted out all the vacuum lines and manifold thingies there.
I had to go thru this process years ago when i did my 18RGEU. I ended up removing the aircon idle up diaphram thingo, and replacing it with a fitting to supply vacuum to the MAP sensor (i ran a megasquirt).

As for the IACV, i had one side connected to the port you've shown on the manifold, and the other to the port at the base of the throttle body.

Here's the diagram of the stock system:

Here's what i drew when i was working it out all those years ago....

    ...... butt scratcher?!

I would nearly say the RG injector seals are also the same as 7MGE.
    Cheers Brett.

Factory RG injectors are Nippon Denso, not Bosch. 7M seals will indeed fit along with the filters and orings. Not sure about the pintle caps, you need single spray units.

    Hi again all!

What options do we have for new harmonic balancer/dampers?!?!?

I have spoken with Unda Presha, but unfortunately what he used in the altered sticks out a fair whack from the front of the engine.

I don't mind a bit of custom work. (Mighty tempted to go for a gilmer style drive belt). but bolton would be preferable!

Anyone know what other ones interchange? (22R??)

I want a replacement that isn't half buggered. All the second hand ones I have are cracked and shit looking.

Rather not be thrashing the crap out of them if I can!

I only need to drive the water pump/alternator/AC.

Only mentioned gilmer because I love how they sound! (Bit of a closet bogan hehe)
