135 fuel seems a little light, have you had it dynoed with an air/fuel ratio? I think standard is 140 over 140.
Getting your missus to help bleed the brakes isn't everybody's idea of quality time.

It is amazing how stupid some people are. There is a bloke on fleabay that thinks you can stick an 18R-G head on a 21R block... this is after he said you use the 22R block for a hybrid, and I asked him how he got around the problem of the head not fitting the block!! Dang, there is one born every minute!!

That info could have come in useful several years ago when I wanted to put a 22R head on an 18R block River

Quick question, l pulled my18RG apart and after looking at the books and looking at my cams they have a different type of spocket on the front. The book one has 1 large bolt and a pin to alter your timing but mind is held on with 3x10m bolts and the spocket slips on to a pin. What have l got?

Also l went down to Melbourne yesterday and got some gasket kits for 45 Webers and the bloke was telling me that all Webers were being made in Spain and he reckons they are not as good as the ones from Italy and evenually they will be made in China.

    Hi,

from memory 88210 sprockets are different to the rest as they aren't adjustable. The 8825x and later have 3 or 5 pin holes on the cam and the sprocket so you can adjust the timing by a degree or two. Check the number on your cams or cylinder head and you'll find it probably is 88210.

    Hi,

yeah i wasn't sure if the change was at 88230 or 88250. But that is why if you get the 88210/30 cams you have to have the sprockets with them as they aren't interchangeable with the 8825x onwards.

As the others said 88210 and 88231 cams are the ones with the three bolt cams and their sprockets are not interchangable.

On the bright side, your cam timing is set from the factory so you don't need to bugger around with dowels that can be dropped down the timing case opening.

I personally prefer the fixed timing approach unless the cams have been modified.

These 3 bolt cam gears are the same as 18R-C gears, or so i've been told.

Javal, That is absolutely correct, I had forgotten about that.

I plan to do some custom work to my gears and cams to make them four-bolt slide adjustable with an advance/retard limit dowel pin for when it gets a turbo.
