There's tons of ECU's that will run the 1uz well, ask your tuner what they prefer to use. Motec, Haltech, Vipec, Link, Adaptronic etc

Adaptronic, especially if you're going to be playing with it yourself...Also it's 1.5k cheaper than autronic!

unfortunalty I know in life you get what you pay for
and I promiced myself not to cheap out on this build
that's not saying go for the most expncive parts out there but if there know to work well then that's the road I'll take
as I want this car to be reliable more so than powerfull I still want the best from both worlds

In terms of reliability, it it probably worth noting that the Autronic doesn't have knock control, unless you fork out extra for an additional module. This module has been 'coming soon' for the last 6 years or so... I ended up using the analog output from a Link Knock Block.

I have heard rumors that they have finally been released, but stopped playing around with this type of thing so I didn't look into it.

I believe some of the other alternatives listed above come with knock control as standard.

Then it has to be a Vipec V88 at around $2.5k.
One of the best ECU's around at the moment.

^^^^ does it have knock control?
Also able to run seprate coils

I'm dumb founded that the autronic doesn't have knock control
does it have a hand controler that shows the knock level like the power fc

Vipec V88 has two built-in knock amplifiers and does closed loop knock control, also closed loop boost control etc etc which all work well. They're especially good on engines with reluctor triggers and support the non vvti and vvti 1UZ's natively. They have 8 ignition and 8 injector drives, so you dont have to run batched injection or waste spark.

I've been running a v88 in a couple of my cars since Sept 2008. Had it in my daily-driver forester GT to start with on a built EJ257 etc etc, then took the V88 from the forester and put it in my MX83 when I did the vvti 2J swap.

Just had a look at the map from the V88 prior to it's removal from my forester, it had run the engine for 32041 minutes and done 2400 starts without a hitch That car's now running on a Vipec V44 "Plug-in" ECU.

If you have coils with built in ignitors (vvti 1uz, LS1 etc) then the ECU can drive them directly. I'd expect something like the haltech platinum sport 2000 or Adaptronic E1280S would perform the same as a V88, I do prefer the vipec tuning and logging interface over the others.

I'm also looking at buying a q45 throttle body to mate with my m112
I should have no problems running a q45 on a 1uz with an aftermarket ecu right
