    Default Corona RT142 help needed

I recently acquired an RT142 which has a 308, trimatic conversion and I am in the process of working through quite a few issues with a view to getting legally registered in the ACT. I am not new to modified cars but I am to toyota's and having spent hours reading through the forum, was hoping to get some advice from experienced members. This car is a 'sleeper' and alot of fun with 180rwkw, manual auto, big stally and locked diff but will need work to make legal.

Brakes and Front Suspension....currently has a rough r31 strut/disk conversion. Is there a bolt in upgrade giving me ventilated disks and calipers that will allow me to keep the 14's with whitewalls?

    Diff...currently running welded diff.
Is there an LSD centre that will fit the IRS?

Thanks in advance and I'll post some picks soon.

its a f series diff so any diff centre to suit a Toyota f series will fit, some need a spacer ring or something made up tho, but a diff shop should have no dramas.
i think sxe10/gxe10/alzetta/is200 diff centres is what most people go for, or a true track or something out of the states

ma61 had lsd standard as option but they pretty pathetic apparently

The front struts of the RT142 were essentially the same as the RA60 Celica/MA61 Celica. These should be a straight swap out. Alternately, if you are up for a bit of fab work, you can get EVO3 brakes in, but would need 15" mags.

Most conversions which will work with the early Celicas and AE86 Corollas can be adapted to your car.

For the diff centre, just get an aftermarket unit, it will handle more torque than the factory option units, and since you have a low revving boat anchor up front, that's what you'll be needing. You surely should be able to find centres from KAAZ, Tomei and others under the guise of the abovementioned vehicles.

Thanks for the info. I am a bit partial to the old boat anchor.....The corona goes well at the moment.

Once this car is legal then this will be going in with modified manifolds. It's a built 346, 76mm holset running E85 and upto 20psi..

Why make it legal, then throw the paperwork out the window and make it illegal? You would be better off just driving it as is. Unless of course you somehow are going to be able to manage to get the second engine legal, in which case you should just do that in the first place.
