Any dramas racing on fresh tyres, do they need to be worn in or anything?

A few spins of the wheels will remove the preservative coating if you don't think the drive there got it all off

    Yup, I love my RT615s.

Just about to buy my 2nd set, and this time I'm not even bothering to look at any other tyre. They're the best street tyres out there.
Lasted 35,000km so far and grip like nothing else I've ever tried.

Mine (225/45R18) were $323ea from Blairs in Cabramatta.

just wondering if anyone has heard anything about the toyo proxes T1R's?

i did read all the thread, and i have t1r's on the front of my 1g ke70. and it rarely understeers. they are 205/50R15. done about 8000km and the lovely + camber has rounded the very outer edge but the rest of the the tyre is still good.
running GT radials on the rear. 225/50R15. so + camber and wider rear tyres and a 1g in the front should make it plow through corners like a bitch, but it turns in and hangs on bloody well.
a stock ke70 with 175 on the rear and the T1R 205's on the front used to handle insanely well, 90* turns at 80 km, that had my mate shouting id never make it. was some of the best fun i had in a car.
i highly endorse these tyres. although i have tried little else...
might have to do some digging and see who makes a 225/50R15 or 225/45R15 at some stage and see how they go on the rear too. and btw, my GT radials have been surprisingly sticky for the money

    cheers, andrew

    FWIW
Bridgestone RE540's......... Think they have been superseeded now though. Not sure whay the new one are called..

Awesome tyres !! ......shit in the wet and shit when cold but when they are to temp....The car is on rails..
I have found they are also quite a predictable tyre (if that makes sense) .You can get them to that point where they are on the border of breaking traction/ sliding out but they dont completely give way on you . You can get some slide / drift out of em but they tend to grip straight back in! which is a big confidence booster when pushing hard.

P>S dont use them if you like your paint work They collect rocks/ sticks and any other form of shit on the road and fling it at your paint causing some NASTY chips.

Dont get me wrong........ I love my paint work BUT i love to go fast even more !

all depends on alignment and what you do with them. most guys i speak to get about 15-20,000kms with the occasional track day throw in.

    cheers
