    They still have them and I was about to get some when I noticed the load ratings. OEM tyres on the celica GT4 are rated 88V but the rt215s are 87V. I belive the RTA states you can't go lower than the OEM load rating? it is really annoying as these are some well priced semis

    How much poo will i get into if i got them?

    If you are only using them at the track... none.
    On the street, it takes a cluey cop or RTA controller to pick up on tyre ratings.
    Just hope you don't catch anyone on a bad day.

    What corner weight does an 87 vs 88 load rating account for?
    I'm sure the GT4 would be well within both.

    I know the corolla was rated for 87, and the gross vehicle mass was well within the allowances of the load rating.

    87 = 545kgs
    88 = 560kgs

    so over 2 tonne on both of them.

    I think you can get an engineer to sign off on them with a requirement of running at least X pressure.

    I've never noticed any difference on my car between the 87 load rating and the 91 i have on it now.

    That is what I was thinking as well. I mean it is not like I'll be gettin the gt4 anywhere near the V speed rating for that load, I'm struggeling to hit 160 at wakefield, maybe eastern creek would be different?

    hmm very tempting.

    Very useful thread, and good to know that I can get the heat cycling done.

    Will have to read it again and ask you guys some suggestions on what to get for a spare set of 15x7 (ET+30) wheels I will be using for track days on my AW11SC and where to buy them.

    I wonder if the Falken rt 615's will be ok for the MR2, the road tyres i am using are 195's and dont rub at all. Looks like the Falkens only come in 205/50 R15.

    Or maybe the Toyo R888's may be the better option as they do come in 195/50 R15 and I do have 2 sets of wheels and one will be for the track only...

    Will look into the prices of Toyos, Yokohama's and the Falkens next week but by the looks of things I am looking around $200 per corner for the Falkens and more for the others.

    Gave Tempe and Balirs a call and looks like the Falkens are about $230 and the Toyos are around $280 so it looks like prices have gone up a bit. Wonder if you can get any better prices for being a CAMS license holder...

    Found this page on the CAMS site which has contact details of the main tire places:

    poida u should be able to beat $230 a corner on the falkens, even on ebay. lol

    give st george tyres a ring possibly, ive seen them advertise them on ebay b4.

    Toyos however that seems to be the going price.

    Thanks Brendan, i did see them on ebay for $730 a set, look like im going that way Only issue is i'm not certain the Falkens wont rub 15x7 ET+30 205/15/50. The 195/50/50 dont rub at all.

    i took the last set of falkens from tempe a few weeks ago cheap, i suspect the new stock has come in with the current dollar in mind

    i run the 205 falkens and dont have any serious scrub issues. at full lock loading up the fronts they can scrape a little but not bad, all i do is put them on the back first wear them down then swap to the front and no more scrub.
