I'll tackle the lift pump when I attempt the surge tank install. thanks Big O.

has anyone actually put a surge tank and pumps inside the rear guard on an ra28.
I was thinking of doing this and boxing it in, while venting through the side vent hole on the pillar.
Downside would be accidents on the rear quarter, what else?

Look people, this is not a accidental post.

What can I use on the geu fuel rail, to replace the old regulator. I have bought an adjustable fuel regulator and want to replace with a hose adaptor. (see pics) I need the same adapter or something to suit a hose connection
does anybody have a fuel rail they don't need any more? money + freight cost in exchange.

that adapter nut thread size is M18X1.0 am i correct? i'm using a 2TG manifold on my 3TC and my fuel rail does not comes with that nut. i have to fabricate it my own.

The threads sounds close, will compare when I see a machinist.

    My next Question is.
What would be the closest engine to an 18rgeu ie meaning airflow metre voltages, computer, 2.0 ltr variants.
If I was to use some spec's of another engine close to this, what would it be?

    3s-ge, 4a-gze, 4age,3f-fe,others?

This is for the emange switch's.

What are you trying to do?? Run an Emanage piggy back?? You will have to map all your components individually

Yes, I've connected the emanage and had the car running fine.
No maps used. I have soldered all the wires now and added bigger injectors.
It's mainly a double check thing. I just want to make sure that everything will be fine when I finally start it again (waiting on fuel rail connection first).
I will place a wiring diagram on my members thread soon, but for now the info would help.
Similar engines to the geu are needed as this engine is not on the emanage application list. This is for the rotary switch setting. There are some tricks that are required for the ignition on Toyota's, wandering if mine is one of them.

Does a 22RE appear in the list? That would be a logical one to start with, since an 18RGEU will run with a stock 22RE computer.

the 22re does not show up anywhere I've looked.
the earliest being maybe 4ag series or the 3s-g series

Those motors are so far dynamically different to the 18R-G it's not funny. Can you map it yourself?? Or are you limited to pre-defined settings??

Their are defined settings I believe, but in saying that it does not mean you cannot share similiar attributes from a different engine. As far as mapping, this is something I have to determine from scratch. Will be a fun learning experience.
All they specify is it should work on most japanese motors. talk about vague...
As I said, I had it running with the emanage connected, but no map, no injector resizing. That doesn't mean much, but the lack of erors and the abbility to gauge info on the laptop was promising.

FYI.here's a link for a forum for some Toyota cars using or attenpting emanage blue.

This sounds like a poor engineering solution, and not something I would want to tie myself up with.

Suggestion - get a fully programmable ECU and start again from scratch. Take the AFM out of the system, and use a MAP sensor. Forget about comparing anything on this motor with that of another, as the dynamics will never line up close enough.

    That is just a suggestion.

I understand the advantages of a stand alone unit.
I see the difficulty in adapting this unit to this engine. But nowhere has anybody attemted it or admitted it didn't work. so for my $300 bucks I concider it a cheap option and could be a decent altenative, rather than spending $1000 plus on stand alone ECU.
It's just like turboing an 18rg with carbies, Why? because its different and can be cheap if it works correctly.

I appreciate the comments though, it is something to think about later down the track..

MS2 is cheap... not much more than $300 as it were.
