If you can find an engine that will give you anywhere near what i am offering for a cheaper price i will throw in the rest of the car for free.

It has frogies, BIG Cams, twin 48s, billet aluminium flywheel- 4.5kg, sprung centred button clutch that has been tweaked, massive amount of head work , comp valves+ valve springs, TRD copy headers, modified oil pump.
It has only done approx 1500-2000kms since fully rebuild.
It will pull 8k rpm all day no hassle.
It has had massive amounts of money poured into it to be a reliable engine just time for me to move on from it.

The alternator belt can be bought off the shelf from any auto parts store, they are an 11mm wide belt, then you just need to get the lengths right. What is the other 'fan' belt you are talking about?? Air conditioning??

Fan bolts to the front of the water pump. The main alternator belt goes from the crank to the back groove on the water pump, then to the alternator. AC belt goes from the front of the crank pulley to the AC pump then around the AC idler pulley. The very front of some RG's had a third pulley on the crank. Not sure what this was for, perhaps power steering on the Hiaces.

    Hello again gentlemen.

I had a look at my new R-G today - it's an 88253 build. It has a few little things done to it like an electronic dizzy and such, so i figured i'd pull the cam cover off to see if they were still the standard cams - and they are. Good thing i have some 88210's to put in

    Anyway my question -
While i was turning it over (as i do every few weeks) with the cam cover off, i noticed the upper timing chain playing funnybuggers. About once per full crank rotation, it would sort of 'dip' for a split second between where it comes off the intake cam gear and onto the upper guide.

I slowly turned it over and stopped it at one of these 'dip' moments - it would seem there is quite a bit of slack there, by my reckoning almost enough so that the chain could jump a tooth. Not good.

My reckoning is that the chain is fucked. BUT i also had the thought, that if the tensioner is driven by oil pressure (i have no idea on its operation) then this would be normal when i'm turning it by hand.

Hence why i'm asking - What's all your thoughts?
