Got word back about shipping on this, $105. Brings it to US$604 shipped, which when you do a conversion with www.xe.com, it comes out to AU$647. I reckon that isn't a bad price for a kameari 4.4kg CrMo flywheel. What are the thoughts of the rest of you??
The way the aussie dollar is going it is worth it. Pity you didn't know some one that could bring it back for you.

The other thing Kameari were selling were the throttle bodies $US 399 each for weber style. Good valve.

I think at under $650 for a bolt-on solution is good value... I made maybe 10 phone calls and 20 emails, and came to the kameari solution. Even fabricating from scratch locally isn't that cheap especially if you want the ring gear teeth machined, and what quality will your final product be?. Note however I'm totally biased and am probably just justifying my own stupidity. Neithet have I ever actually used a lightweight flywheel!

fair enough and alot comes down, as i said, to finding the right fabricator. I have paid around the $300 for the majority of billet flywheels i have had made but i have 'connections'

    Great minds...

(bought second hand so trumpets are too long)

    Not running yet though.

Pro's: Look and should sound awesome (Although not sure how muted it will be with an airbox over them though)

Cons: Constantly tight pants when you open hood or press throttle.

Contact details of said connection?? Did that sort of price include ring gear, or would I have to re-use my existing item??

Yes! Screw the box around them.. I ran the solexes with just trumpets, no filter. The socks kept getting oil from the brake master on them.

(Not much to see at the moment. Thats as far as I have got with them LOL. Still got some fiddling to do and parts to buy before fitting.

They are mine The 18RG (many years ago now) reused the stock ring gear.

What's the opinion out there on Aluminium flywheels?

THe 22R crank lets me look at 22R flywheels, available in billet steel and aluminium.

I read somewhere that the 20/22Rs have 1mm bigger bolts on the flywheel. Same bolt pattern though. I bought a 20R billet flywheel from LC engineering for my 18RG

Don't know. But, there is a slight difference between the 22R and 18R bell housings.

That could be because they used different gearboxes?

    I raed that 22Rs use 12mm bolts, 18Rs use 10mm.
I haven't measured them because I am lazy.

I saw a photo once of an 18R flywheel next to a 22R flywheel. The 22R flywheel had a wider clutch contact surface. I don't remember if the clutch itself was any different, though.
