Historic Vehicle Registration Scheme
The outline for vehicles on the NSW Historic Vehicle Registration Scheme is that the vehicle essentially be Factory original with only period correct accessories one could have reasonably obtained via the dealer that sold it or within 3 years of the vehicle manufacture. Modified Vehicles or cars with non period correct accessories are catered for via the Classic Vehicle Scheme.
How do I apply for Historic Registration
This is done at the Toymods Monthly meeting - Held on the 3rd Monday of each month. At this time you will require:
- Your vehicle so we can inspect it.
- A current/valid NSW pink slip for the vehicle.
- A completed Toymods Historic Vehicle Application Form (Can now be filled out on screen then Printed & Signed) for the Clubs records.
- A Completed RMS Historic Vehicle Declaration Form (Toymods needs to Stamp and sign this for you and needs to see your pink slip to do so)
- Proof of Current membership - You must be a current financial member of the Toymods Car club. (We need to see your membership card or your Forum profile showing your paid subscription)
- $20 Cash per vehicle inspected - This is the annual administration fee payable to the Toymods Car club.
- NOTE: You (In Person) must bring your Vehicle and completed paperwork for final inspection. You cannot send a friend or agent to do this on your behalf.
Note: The RMS stipulates that the Vehicle Registration must be in the same name as the Club Members.
What do I take to the RMS?
The RMS will require you to have:
- Proof of purchase or ownership of Vehicle
- Your current NSW Drivers License as proof of ID
- A valid/current NSW pink slip
- Completed and approved RMS Application for Conditional Registration Form (Note: Your Pink Slip Guy needs to fill in part of this form so take it with you when you get your pink slip)
- Approved RMS Historic Vehicle Declaration Form (Only ORIGINAL forms will be accepted. Toymods needs to Stamp and sign this for you)
- If your vehicle has current registration plates these will need to be handed in at the time.
From the RMS you will receive:
- A set of Historic Registration plates (Charged out as a one off fee when received)
- Historic Vehicle registration papers
- A Green Slip for the vehicle
- Certificate of Approved Operations, which must be kept in the vehicle at all times.
How do I renew my Historic Registration ?
You must be a financial member of the Toymods Car Club Inc and we expect all members with vehicles on historic or classic registration to display active club level participation. Failure to do so may result in your registration renewal request being denied. Renewals, just like new applications must be processed in person by the vehicle owner. Toymods needs to inspect your vehicle and stamp and sign your Historic Vehicle Declaration form. This is done at the Monthly Club Social meet held on the 3rd Monday of each Month. For us to do this we need to see:
- Your Vehicle - to ensure it still complies
- Your Pink Slip
- Confirmation of your valid/current Toymods Membership (Info is on the forums in your profile)
- A completed Toymods Application for Historic Rego form.
- Your $10 Toymods Administration fee
- Your completed Declaration form for us to Stamp and Sign
All the RMS needs to see is your pink slip and the Completed Historic Vehicle Registration Form. You should also take your Toymods Membership card just in case they ask. And generally they will want to see your Drivers licence. Reminder: When enjoying your Historic Registered Vehicle, be it privately or attending Club events, your vehicle is representing our club and linked directly to Toymods via its registration. As such we respectfully request that at all times anyone driving your vehicle must follow the
Toymods Code of Conduct.
