I'll reiterate what I wrote on the old forums. I've got a Niteparts bellhousing from Brendan in EnZud, got it sent over about 18 months ago, I think I was in the first handful of guys to get them and so I paid a bit more for mine than what it looks like you guy's are going to be paying, but I needed it asap and Brendan came through with the goods so to speak.
The bellhousing I got was pretty much perfect, the inside edge of the bellhousing had been linished by Niteparts already, I gave it a bit more of a grind, and the gze flywheel gave it a bit more on the first drive haha, so no real problems with that part of the setup. I went to a specialised brake place in Wollongong, as they also do clutch bits and pieces, and got a clutch slave cylinder to suit the W58 after I told the guys there the sort of setup I would need. I got my gearbox guy to setup the slave and that for me, it needed a custom length rod and that but he sorted all that shit out pretty easily, me and my old man had a go at it but couldn't get the pedal feel quite right, there was also a shiteload of air in the system, took ages to get it all out.
I had to get my gearbox guy to have a 2nd attempt at the shifter housing selection, the first shifter sat too far forward and hit and bent the very front of the stock T-50 shifter hole. The 2nd one I got was almost perfect, it might be a fraction too far back for some people, but some mild cutting and massaging of the shifter hole has the W58 shifter in a perfect position, well for my liking anyway. A little bit of aluminium, screws, rubber washers, and some cutting and a gear boot thrown in for good measure, and I reckon the finished product looks pretty fcuking good for a track pig lol.![]()
Re: BigWorm's concerns about the angle of the shifter, my shifter sits pretty straight, it sits tall 'cos of the Star Trek-esque W58 shifter design, but none the less still fairly bloody straight.
Cheers, Daniel.![]()
