The smaller square style ones can break... sometimes even within stock rev-limits. Just having the larger volume pump/gear on the late model gearset with the same relief valve gave me higher pressures without having to shim.

Update, Assassin - i didn't get a chance to look up the info you posted, my browser settings here at work won't allow 99% of forums, lucky i have this one!...

the pump itself is the same as what came off there, but there is a small difference in the casting at the pickup, and a very minor structural cast rib on the output, this might have just been a revision by AISIN/Toyota?

pics are resized from iphone, didn't realise it rotated when i was taking them, looks stupid when i rotate on screen now, but you get the idea. literally took pics straight from pulling it off the engine, didn't even clean or peel off the gasket haha..

managed to get into a cached google version of that Club4AG that you posted Assassin - unfortunatly i didn't measure the thickness to make 100% sure i was assuming as i had a quick search that as demonstrated in your pic the 4AC style gear looked completley different to the eye, and now the pump/windage/pickup/sump/crossmember/exhaust etc is all fitted back on, i'll be finishing the rest tonight.
