    after some searching, and lots of coffee, found a few things out.

    vvti ecu,s can be de-immobilised.

    can use 5spd auto in 4runner with 4wd.

    no smog test with factory management on it.

    now looking for vvti and box package.

    could you tell us more about de-immobilising?
    I could only find a set of immobiliser eeprom chip firmwares which set immobiliser to learn mode, so you can program any key into it
    I know that for some ECU's firmwares exist that disable immo feature at all
    But I couldn't find anything for ls400/uzs151

    u probably need a complete setup all running to play with and test things
    and then maybe afew days stuffing round learning how it all works
    ive read u can program keys using ignition switch and opepenng and closing doors somehow
    some toyotas i think have an external immobiliser ecu
    some have the immobiliser inside the engine ecu

    vvti 1uz ecu has all the logic-level processing inside, outside unit is only phy layer.
    some ecu's do allow programming additional keys with doors, but you need at least original key and 'body ecu' connected to mpx bus. So this option is apparently useless.

    sure, for ~400USD you can buy tool to program blank keys to work with your existing ECU. But one can't speak of it as de-immobilising.

    well sometimes its easier to prog key that deactivate immobiliser
    especially if u dont need external immob ecu

    if ecu has inbuilt immob then u just need key reader
    very common to most lexus and toyota cars
    and a blank key and some special tools

    of course it is, but before blurunner's message I thought it was impossible to deactivate immo in namely 1uz vvti. Now it's not that clear. So it's more a matter of techical curiosity than practical interest.

    i found out thru the lextreme site, gloverman on there has cracked these vvti ecu,s.

    if you check my posts on there you,ll see what is avail. no usable info, but possible by Kelvin.

    he,s spent along time cracking these. there is 3 related sites gloverman put up for me.

    yes kelvin has spent ages working it out
    u can also get the key reader and prog a key to it easily enough

    blurunner, I've seen his video showing 1UZ running without immobiliser unit (however there were some wires running from ECU's immobiliser connector to somewhere). Thanks, I'll check his topic once more to see links for the 3 sites

    Wouldn't be hard to get ecu and key reader and then program a key to it
    U just have to learn how to reset the immobiliser to be able to program a new key

    Bypassing is bait harder as once u figure out the correct signal u then ned to make a device
    To replicate it
    That's y for me it's prob easier to go the key programming direction

    Anyway just get the motec guy who is wiring the motor to do it all

    i,m thinking for extra 20kw i get for vvti motor.(costing $2000 extra)with immob gear. maybe easier to do a 95-96 high comp motor.
    running stock ecu. get all passed.

    rebuild sooner or later with good cams, vvti heads, piggyback.

    just means about 2 grand less to have in and running for starters.

    $1800 for ufc21 non vvti package
    $3500-$4000 for vvti with all the shizer.

    y not save yr money buy non vvti
    and boost it
    u can spend 5g on cams and heads n shit and get abit more power
    when u spend abit more and turbo it and get heaps more power
    cams give u abit mor epower but much higher revs and u loose down low power
    which is not the best for a 4wd
