Barbs is awesome... they run a test and tune session every month.. normally mid week some point..
only problem is the cost.. (unless you are already have CAMS license and WASCC membership)..
but if cost puts someone off motor racing, they should stick to lawnballs IMO

Haha, ultimately I'd like to get out to Barbs, but at this stage for me I'd prefer to hit somewhere where I can get some hints from an instructor like AHG.

My other half gave me a voucher for the performancer driving course at AHG for valentine's day a few years back, it was really good. There was about half an hour of basic theory, then they went out with you for the first few runs, more if you wanted them to.
By the end of the day most of the people had left so there were only about 3 of us there, was nice and fast![]()
Yeah, had a similar experience the last time I went to AHG. That was in Decade though, really need some time punishing Century around a track in its current state.

after midvale, AHG is mucho boring. I think the biggest problem yesterday was a shortage of tracktime! I think we need to organise a TECCWA group discount with driving proficiency, much more than 15 people and you barely see the track. We can also get onto the AHG track easily, but only during the week

In what way is it boring and how can it be improved? I actually had heaps of fun last time because I didn't have a fear of hitting anything, and I learned more because I would push the car more and got instruction on when I should be feeding on the power and braking (respectively sooner and later than I was). Surely it's a function of making sure the courses they setup are fun and you have a good group of people.

To those interested in more driving event days through TECCWA, we are looking at several options. Ideally, we'd like to develop into having a driving event at least once a month but this takes time and money so I will encourage all of you to become a member of the club to help support our aspirations. With your membership payment and our increased membership numbers, this gives us more options to hold days such as the test and tune just gone, either through third parties such as "Driving Proficiency" and hopefully own our own accord further down the track. This will mean a hell of a lot of paperwork to get it up and running and we do have a "Motorsport Coordinator" in Gene but he will always appreciate a small working group of motivated people with the intellect and time to assist him in this venture - please consider putting some time towards this side of the club.
As for the next TECCWA "motorsport event", we have the dyno day on July 3rd that I'd appreciate seeing as many of you down there as we can fit for the day, and we are also organising a Kart night/day for late July to be announced later this month. Given the costs to attend both these events, I'd like to consider another "driving" event some time in mid to late August.

The no limits events are held on a thursday night, the only requirement being a CAMS licence, which requires an affiliated car club membership. No limits charge $15 for membership and a L2S licence costs just over $100 for a year.
