fit the EGR from your usdm engine?
i have installed a jdm 1mzfe in a 98' avalon. my quandry is, can i use the jdm ecu in my usdm car, and as the jdm engine has no egr, will installing resistors in the egr plugs keep cel off? emissions is not a factor in my state...yet!

have'nt started the engine yet. using usdm parts requires removing upper and lower plenum and intake,as the jdm was never drilled for egr. and the intake set is $75.00 and also r&r usdm exhaust manifold due to egr tube is attached to manifold as well as a funky looking crossover passage that bolts to the side of the block?(real weird design) exhst gasket set $$ is n/a. just wanna see if i can make it run as is. heck even the y- pipe is friggin different!!
Does not having the EGR hooked up cause the car to enter limp mode? if it doesnt you could put up with the CEL untill a better solution is found.

before i posted, i beat google till 2:00 am looking for answers, and found out that most builders that boosted in any fashion had to pretty much do away with the egr. this one guy totally nixed the system and installed resistors in the plugs that go to the egr position sensor,as well as the egr gas temp sensor, and reported that the cel went out and stayed out... but for how long i don't know.that's one of the reasons i'm looking into the jdm ecu swap, as the jdm ecu has no provision for dealing with egr. however the jap car is right hand drive, so i need to know if i'm gonna short anything by hooking up the jdm ecu.
started up jdm engine today, wow! first turn of the crank and pow! she hit and purred like a kitten! no cel, all gauges reading optimal, one pesky ex-leak at the y-pipe to cat, only a gasket needed for that. tomorrow it's bolt the hood back on r&r the cat gasket, replace the splash shields and its time for a beat session to test the new mill! still thinking of using jdm ecu if i can, but good for now.
code 1410... egr position sensor fault...damn!! either the pintle needs to move up and down or my resistor blew. car still runs awesome though! back to the drawing board.
