That explains it. I figured they were the same. We are working on tolerances this weeks and need to find someone with solid modeling to verify function and dynamic tolerances.

    Hi again,

The sky is the limit with inventor. It should be able to run the oil pump and show any overlapping (ie if geometry is wrong) and should be able to show tolerances etc. If you have the geometry done forward it back to me and i'll take it to tafe on thursday. Our teacher is the guru with inventor so he will be able to show me anything we need to know with it!!

I used to do a lot of 3D cad for a living and I have Solid Edge at home, so let me know if you need something done.

Just wanted to update. We still need to redo the drawing to measured dimensions. I did stop in to one wire EDM place and showed him the parts. He said it would be over $100 each for the 2 parts.

My engineer is busy with some projects here, so he won't be able to hit the drawing for a few weeks. Once we get that, I'll send it out for bid to numerous shops.

So we are still working on it, just slowly, LOL

hey guys, has anyone in Australia got an 18rgue Turbo yet. Is this still a dream or has someone made it reality.

If it is still a dream Why ? I have read a wack of the thread and got bored, but what is the big sticking point. Mulla or engineering issues.

    Zuludan,

I have one that has been driving great guns for the last 2 years, bar a few minor hiccups here and there.
If you look earlier in the thread I have pics up.

    Cheers

Got any new pics cause the ones I found are old and not real clear. What did you do for manifold.

Zulu, I am most of the way toward being ready for the engine machining on mine. Photos of my completed manifold are in my RA28 thread (linked in my sig). I used a CT26 twin entry from a gen2 3S-GTE and made the manifold myself from mandrels, straights and flanges.

    Karl has a running 18R-GTE doesn't he??

I am sorry to question you. I am in my 30's and am trying to learn how to be handy with a spanner as my other job is pen pusher...

I guess my question is more along the lines of can a part time novice with the right parts achieve this or am i best to save the mulla and get a different hobby or project..

I already have EFI gear and 18RGU in good order and was thinking of adding a low level turbo just for effect and wow factor, not reallly after a license burner....

Mulla for me built one blew it up, pulled it a part started pouring thousands of dollars into it all i need is conrods and i'm done. Bought a house in the mean time now funds have become a drizzel. One day it will roar again. It made 320hp poorly tuned on 24psi which in turn lead to dentonation.

If you don't have the patience to even read this thread then i suggest you get another hobby

Nothing difficult about this game if you are patient, don't cut corners and pay attention to the detail. Nothing worth having comes easy mate

Toooo True, I am very impatient..... However i am obsessive compulsive..... IT's tough being me...

Ok I have now read most of the thread... And to be honest I think I will stick with Base EFI and find a new project and add more more power to that and leave my 23 as original as possible like i first planned. Thanks will leave this thread alone .... FOR NOW
