Zulu,
If you follow my thread you will get plenty of hints, I am going to start really putting some tech info into it soon on my build. I am a control systems engineer by day (read programmer)... and by night I get my trusty MIG out and weld up monsters!! Well, manifolds actually, but who's counting?? If your able to plan your build properly, and can understand what is being said in this thread, and the 18R-G life and times thread, then you should be pretty right. Even if you just pay for the engine to be built, and the manifolds to be made, and fit the whole schebang and wire it up yourself, you should be right. And if you do it properly, you can make it very reversible if you want to go back to original later.
Don't let being a pencil pusher stop you, look at Normo's EleanoRA28... and he's a Math teacher come first time welder, who did the whole lot in a pig shed!! I believe in you mate(just need to learn the difference between a control arm and a trailing arm
