The problem was a poor connection at the fuel pump. I wasn't a fan of the waterproof connector initially used. A quick run around with a test light, and by-passing the COR found the problem.
It's a bigport 4age converted to RWD with a standard ECU.
It's been starting fine, most driving during the day, either starting first go, or second. However, it's refusing to start at night. I have a theory that it's scared of the dark.
The engine's done less than 500kms since it was rebuilt, so the compression should be good. When it starts it drives fine, doesn't miss or stumble. It just plain refused to go tonight so I had to leave it at my aunty's and borrow a car to get home! I checked the spark while attempting to start it and it sparks just fine. It's got a cold start injector in there and connected.
I'm stumped, so any suggestions are appreciated. I'm hoping it starts okay tomorrow when I go back to pick it up.
Chris.
