Hello,
Have read on some US forums that the 2.6L Isuzu Trooper belt is the same as the 1j belt and therefore works well with the 1jz-gte. I figured this was actually called the Isuzu 4ZE1 engine and is used on the Rodeo.
Has anybody here had experiences with fitting this belt to a 1jz-gte?
Any problems/Issues?
Thanks.

firstly, why?
second, do a search, find some part numbers, specs etc...
Now - 1988 GX81 Mark II- 7MGTE, GT35R, TiAL 44m, Microtech, 550cc injectors, R154, Xtreme clutch, LSD.... Low boost tune done = 330rwhp@1 BAR...
Then - 1989 MX83 - The big scrap heap in the sky...
what the hell boris.... firstly you need to make sure there both round or square tooth, and its not uncommon that some engines have the same amount of teeth in the timing belt....
but..
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/BOSCH-TIMING-...item2eac52b982
seriously... sometimes i wonder bout you
I did get some specs which is why I had figured they should be compatible
both are 137 teeth, 25mm wide
Had seen a few posts where people in the US had used them without problems so i wanted to know if anybody here could confirm that they work.
Plus better to go down to the auto parts store and pay less, wait less.
$50 is ok for a bosch one, the retard at Supercheap said bosch/dayco etc don't make belts for it guess they do.
Then again if it's the same belt and the isuzu one is cheaper why not.
I just thought the 4Ze1 belt would be what everybody is using
Seems that the belt profiles are different though from reading the specs on the bosch catalogue so might not be a good idea after all.

dude... never goto supercheap for 1jz parts.. please..
veales, ebay, or toyota..... easy as pie
i've run the belt off the 4ze1 on my 1jz and i've had no issues and have been used 2 belts over a 6 year period. I just did the same as you and took the original belt and matched it up.
yes they're the same belt, as the dayco brand one's have both t147 and t923 part numbers on them!
