I mentioned getting a CAI sorted, by which I hoped to also imply boxing the pod

    Hi,

So.... if you attach insulation under your bonnet, will this make the engine bay temps higher? On Trini my bonnet gets very hot. I'm getting the manifold, turbo housing and dump pipe ceramic coated, which should alleviate some of the heat. I'll probably get some form of heatshield done for protecting the air-con compressor and maybe the alternator.

Car manufacturers do have a pretty decent idea of how air does and doesn't move around the car and thru the engine bay.

All of this talk about reducing heat in the engine bay and nobody has suggested he do anything about that pod filter that is directly behind the radiator
hence why i havnt done any of that but some people think its the way to go.

That isnt my car mate lol.. my pod filter is as far to the side of the engine bay as possible.. its touching the sidewall.. and has a 2.5" fexipipe pointing right at it from where the fog lights normally go.. plus the metal part of the intake is atleast 15cms away from the turbo, so that will reduce some radiant heat on the metal..

i was gonna remove that rubber plastic weather strip on track days.. but normal driving id prefer to keep the water out of my coil and ignitor.
