There has to be a business near you Scott that would have experience in twin screw setups. I'm not too familiar with them, what is the hardest part of getting them to work? Brackets for it can't be too difficult to sort out..
double post
scott, regarding the install help... as you know i am always willing to lend a hand, although you might not want it. after all i helped install your current supercharger and look how short lived it has been
seriously though between all the adub boys im sure we could get a turbo setup done properly and (relatively) cheaply. however i do agree with the charger idea. does ogura corp sell newer versions of the sc series past the sc12/14?
nope, not really

Eaton only make the rotor assemblies, usually someone else makes the housings. Magnusson is one of those, they are OEM for GM from memory

yeah, this is news to me as well...
FFS! turbo's are not, i repeat NOT hard to put on a aw11. there is plenty of space etc.
i'm sure you'll make the decision that suits you gun.![]()
The above opinion is just that - my opinion. It is not shared by any business that I am currently or have previously been involved with, nor any of their employee's.
You can make the IHI Twinscrew about 5-6" shorter by removing the throttle body and funnel off the back of the unit. I was originally going to look at just making a it nearly bolt onto the head with a real small manifold (think of it as how they bolt blowers onto V6/V8's). I was only chasing low boost, so an intercooler was out the window.
There is also one on Ebay for $500

Also found where you can buy the LYS120AX twinscrew (equiv to the IHI unit)
http://www.hi-flow.com/HP8Super.htm
Model: LYS 1200 ax

Or even look at the Sprintrex twinscrews

Sprintex S5-335

Just doing some quick plugs into my supercharger calculator, the Sprintrex S5-210 will be struggling to push more then 16psi all the way to red line (8000rpm) as it goes close to the max flow of the charger (8000rpm @ with 16psi requires 208L/sec, chargers limit is 210L/sec). You need a 1:1.78 belt drive, (160mm crank, 90mm supercharger)
Using the Sprintrex S5-335 looks a lot better, 18psi @ 8000rpm is well within it's limits in flow and rpm. Only needa 1:1.25 belt drive (160mm crank, 128mm supercharger). The blower will only be ticking over at around 10000rpm, is only using 2/3rd of it's max flow so the intake temps should be reasonable and with such large pulleys for the belt drive, you should never have issues with belt slip or wearing belts out.
Now I'm only banging out numbers here, they could be way off in real world terms, but they should definitely be better then an SC12 or SC14 in all regards except for price.... If anyone else comes up with different numbers or spots some problems, let me know, always keen to learn from my mistakes.![]()
Ideally I'd go slightly bigger than a TD04L having had one on my old 4AGTE. from 6000 onwards it just went backwards (this may have been to do with the fact I was running 18psi which is just a tad overkill for a TD04L). Low/mid response was amazing though but when you're out on wakefield and not doing anything below 4500+ then you can afford to lose a bit of that low down response which to be honest was a little annoying as you'd be making instant boost on hill starts etc which was painful when in the wet during peak hour.
I'd rather spend a bit more and source something like a VF34 which would have a bit more top end, yet still retail similar response since they're ball bearing. But if you're goign to be shelling out for a brand new turbo then 2560 etc.
just my $0.02
