battery light coming on at higher rpm

I cant say for all auto elecs mate, but my reco's run for lot longer then 12 months, and comparing a engine to an alternator and delaying the inevitable is just stupid mate as they are 2 different things...


p.s the slip ring would be worn on a nipon denso alternator 100% and regs arent the problem...never are...

The engine comparision was only a joke sorry. Thanks for the advice though i'll pursue further with the reco. I may have just had a bad one.

Wierdly enough my previous car had the alternator go only after a few weeks of buying the car too.

Alternators spin all the time they just run out of life things get worn etc, or it could be just something that happened to you, could be a lemon as well or dodge auto elec god knows there are a few out there.

If you had a standard 4a corolla and a bosch alternator and to replace a reg 90% of the time that would be your problem, but the denso alternators mainly have issues with worn slip ring and brushes and diode's regs on them are built solid and very rearly go...
