Noone said superchargers we're crap, but yours will give us something to guage if they are indeed the less efficient of the 2

,
Well...we were quiet aware that superchargers were less effecient in overall terms before we went down that path. Effeciency alone was not the deciding factor. and as for superchargers being superior offroad, give me a pm one day when its on road and we'll go out for a play in yours and a 3rz +T.
Superior off road? Who said that!
an aftermarket ecu gains you full control, the piggy back would be giving the motor more fuel to compensate for boost, it depends on what capabilities the piggy back has, and what you deem worth 3000 dollars, so they are both right, aftermarket will allow to tune it more aggressively, gaining more power and being able to alter ignition timing.
5psi is not alot, but should be a fairly good improvement, if anything torque should be greatly increased, your playing with all stock parts, that wern't designed and/or factored into anything on the motor.
Sure, they are all stock parts and Toyota offered this kit as an option in the USA without mentioning the need to upgrade other bits, so we naturally assumed it would work
To gain more the dollars will blow out, if the tuning isnt up to scratch you'll also be up for a new motor. Speaking from personal experience, adding forced induction to a internally standard high compression "big block" 4 cylinder motor takes the best knowledge, wheather it be a shop/yourself or trial and error, and/or a fair amount of money to maintain reliability, yes there is 300-500rwhp
Hmmm..not looking for anything like that, but near 200 would be nice
internally stock 3rz's running around but, they either blow up or have had thousands spent in tuning and parts that allow optimum temp, pressure, ignition, fuel, compression and the list goes on
go to 8psi and it will be time for a new set of injectors, and wanting/needing a fully programmable ecu.
An aftermarket ecu alone without a blower tuned on the aggressive side, will outdo a 3rz running 5psi through it with a stock ecu.
Wish I had known that before..could have saved a couple of grand!
Many of times i blew cooler pipes off, and i was more than impressed, even with a stupid turbo restricting my exhaust flow
Now...who said turbo's were stupid
Good luck hope it works out to be an animal.
