    Default 3rzfe Supercharger Kit ?

Wondering if anyone has...or know someone who has Purchased/Fitted a Supercharger Kit to a 3rzfe from LCengineering.
Thinking of getting one for son's 4x4 Hilux as he's looking for more low down grunt for offroad/towing etc, and improved performance up to legal speed limits.

Yes...I know they're expensive. Yes...I have used the Search Function and google. No...I'm not interested in Turbo'ing it or changing the Engine.

    Informed comments appreciated

seems like you wont get much change from 5k after conversions, shipping and duty etc.

now weigh this up against something you can put together yourself....

what quantifiable gains are you actually chasing? ?

you would prob get away with say 10% increase with something like a SC14 overdriven a little, just plumbing it inline with existing inlet piping (AFM -> TB -> SC -> mani). using everything else thats already there (ecu, injectors etc)

This has definately been a consideration...just looking at the simplicity of the LC setup.
Appears to look 'Factory' in the Engine bay Looks to be easy to fit and easy to remove in the future and return it all to standard form if you wanted to.
Without seeing what others may have done...it looks like if I fitted an SC14, it would probably have to go somewhere about where the alternator now sits. This no doubt is the cheaper option for the gains we are looking for, but there will be a lot of relocating and fabrication of bits to acheive it.
    Still....I havn't ruled that out!
When buying a used SC14.....what do you look for to be sure it's in good condition?
Everyone will say they have one with low km/s for sale

see if the teflon coating is good... you will see if dirt has gone through it or its got really hot.

wouldnt you have to move your PS pump anyway with the LC kit??

Not sure about that...but I guess they allow for that in the kit. I emailed them a couple of days ago for more info, but havn't had a reply yet. Anyone here bought stuff from them? What are they like to deal with?

I'm pretty sure the LC Engineering kit WAS the Alpine Development kit... which Alpine Development(South America) developed for TRD......

Hmmm......This being over a grand will probably be a PITA.
Emailed Customs for information, but being a Government department, I won't hold my breath waiting for a reply Have had a good response from the guys at LC Engineering though....and with the Aussie Dollar up a bit at the moment...it's not a bad time to buy stuff from the US.

No I'm certain you will get a reply. However they will probably spoon feed you straight back to the intaweb as the information is freely available on their website i.e. http://www.customs.gov.au/site/page.cfm?u=5549

Thanks for the info....alamomotorsports get their kits from LC Engineering
Tweak...The kit on Ebay is sechond hand so there's a risk of it not being in A1 condition, no warranty, no back up service....just a few things i'm not keen on when buying something i'm not familiar with. Interesting though
