MX83 Grande Stereo Install

Hey,

Im thinking about upgrading the stock double-dinn stereo because it wont play burnt cd's properly let alone MP3 cd's.

What i wanted to know is could i re-use the stock controls on the upper dash?? Eg: the radio selections / volume / track changing???

IS there any easy way to do it apart from wiring it to the button behind the face of the new stereo?

If not can i get a blanking plate for there?

I just left the upper controls there and plugged in my new Toyota stereo to the loom.

I just got a Toyota (fujitsu) stereo which would work with the stacker I had and did not use the Cressida controls.

If you can find a GL model MX83 at the wreckers they didn't have the remote controls and had a little pocket thing you can use to get rid of the controls.

you can take then factory controls out and put some filler over them and spray them..

yea i have seen the pocket thing on a few cressidas, and i dont like them because they never looked like they fit very well and the flap doesnt open properly.

if you dont care about having an extra storage compartment then the filler and spray option looks a lot better imo

Mine works fine, and fits nicely. Its useful because all the rest of the pockets in the dash are horizontal so when you accelerate they dump their contents over the center console.

ah i have a piece of non-slip stuff in my pockets so nothing slips out.

haha yeah im kinda sick of trying to find my wallet after it fly's out from the horizontal pocket and hides inbetween the seats

+1 they fit fine and open no prob. it does suck if u take off with the door open lol i always have to go looking for my bluetooth and spare screws lol.
