Looks are decieving Jack....the surface had less grip than last year and generally, slow was actually fast...if that makes sense.
The most obvious demonstration of the conditions was watching the silver JZA80 smash out a beautiful series of handbrake turns that 'looked' quick....followed by a driving miss daisey IS that barely needed any brakes let alone had any wheelspin, but was obviously quicker.
All good fun though and and at least you ended the day with rear tyres in one piece![]()

It probably wasn't, but that was also the damp track when I could actually got my handbrake to work, plus the LSD rear made the car go sideways & flick instead of understeering like in the dry, plus the AWD "grip" out of the cornersOriginally Posted by ToySprinta

That was prob my best run vs your worst.

Yeah get that, but even out of the top 10 outright times as listed above, you would hardly say the majority of those drivers were driving very conservatively and not at all outlandish.Originally Posted by JustenGT8
Bronwyn was 4 secs slower overall than Lester in the GT4 who was more focussed on ripping AWD heli's. Then you had Shane who was 1 sec faster than Bronwyn overall, even though he missed a complete run cos we didnt realise every run counted.
I still think getting into it with agressive driving and handbrake turns earnt fast times. I would imagine the total times listed above were after penalties had been taken out.
I'm quite surprised that Steve and Greg who were also driving the 1UZ Cressie didnt get a mention in the top 10 considering Stewy was 2nd fastest in the same car. I personally didnt think their driving efforts were that different (>30secs).
Anyways, plenty of lessons to be learnt for next year I guess. Awesome event, everyone will be making sure they make every run count next year!!
I forgot about stittys trophys... ill go back and add them
Top import
and i think top modern original.
Hey Justin... that stock is200 driving miss daisy..... had a pimp navigator... lol
She had a ball as did i.....
C'mon Jack.... im sure it was my awesome driving skills.... lolI was as surprised as anyone else...... i think the big difference was that i just assumed every run counted as i had never done it before, so just tried to do my best each run....
Have to say a huge thanks to the Boys and the Ladies that ran that motokhana event.
It was better organised and flowed through faster than any other motorsport i have been involved with.
Cheers

I think it was Bronnie's driving skills rubbing off on ya mate, you must of been paying attention and taking notes when you were 'navigating' for herOriginally Posted by Toy77

There's obviously a line where aggressive becomes "too aggresive"Originally Posted by TA22 1MZ
Getting around the tight turns (180 degrees or more) definitely needs handbrake/rear tyres turning but controlling it to stop so you can aim at the next marker seems to be the trick.
Next year I'm tightening the crap out of my handbrake, getting some decent rubber for the front & some crap stuff for the rear (probably even keep these tyres for that) & then bumping the rear tyre pressures right up.
I think reading the supp regs will be done by everyone (right Justen?) for next year. It could change again.
Perhaps....beer always seems to be a higher priority. Maybe the drivers brief will cover the critical issues for the day?
