probably one for any hill-climbers as well

edit: and on a personal note, I'd like a "2000 model JZA80" category

I think car description is where you put down your modifications...

this allows the organisers to put it in a certain category.

What you class as modified and i class as modified may be different.....

In you case Jeff, fitting a non-standard motor that was not released in that body shape (eg 1j into ma70) would imediately put you into the modified category...

But i think it is getting harder to do classing... perhaps we will need to look at the guidelines for classes, and put a bit more info on the entry form - particuarly when there are rare or unique vehicle, that people dont know all the original details of, but the original owner will...

Maybe not a "drift pig" award... but i think a best "competition orientated" would be a worthy addition, with at least 4-5 entrants this year that would have been in for a shot...

maybe the entry fee should be a little bit higher and then everyone can get a prize

Actually, the jza80 category wouldn't be such a bad thing as there are so many fuckloads of them.

This may sound weird, but if we can get the okay from the organisers, me and grub would do a drift demo at the next khana if anyones interested?

I wonder if we could convince the local gokart track to allow us to hold a drift event... That's considered 'low speed' according to CAMS if I remember correctly...

That's funny... Tamworth had a drift track and a motorkhana area (drags nearby) in the same venue, and they would lease it to us with with all facilities for $10 a competitor.

But we've already discredited that, its about 30 mins further for 10 % of NSW entrants.

    Plus it's Tamworth.

My last experience there was hundreds of drunk teenagers spilling across the amin street, and creating a traffic nghtmare for the 10 taxis (Tamworth's entire fleet, I assume), and me, at the end of a 6 hour drive

Yes, Tamworth the last frontier. Its a wild and unforgiving outpost. Only the tough survive a trip out there, perhaps we should all buy landcruisers and satelite phones, just to be sure of making it!

Seriously, it was uninformed utter BS like the previous post which stunted us at the last possible update of this event. Tamworth is 10x the city that dubbo is, visit both and you'll see what I mean.

My previous post was one of rejoicing, finally some growth amongst the ideas of actual competitors. Not the uniformed crap from those who dont even go.

    Ok, back to seriousness.

To be fair, I've been to both and I'd feel safer parking my better half in Tamworth than Dubbo.
But on the other hand, it seems the Toynats organisers have a fairly sweet deal with the dubbo local council - which is absolutely vitally important if you want to run any kind of event in their town
