Silly Tom, you should know cars don't like going backwards, let alone doing backflips.Originally Posted by tomvale13

Tom, were you backing off the throttle when you were inverted?? If not, that's your cause! The fuel drains away from the injector nozzles when you're upside down so it can't supply enough fuel to keep up with the demand of teh swift - that's why they don't build engines with the injectors pointing up!! lol![]()

I knew I should have come straight to you.. I took the swift to the mechanics to solve the problem and they installed a $4000 harmonic balancer, it just looks like a harmonica taped to the exhaust but fuck me does my car make some wicked bad engine notes now!
:-D
Looks like I'll have to wait until it happens next time and see if I can figure out why it is happening.
Hi,
My car turned off today, flat road 90km/h.
I checked the leads, and connections to the ignition coil and distributor, and all are fine.
I have noticed my AFM meter plug is right next to my intercooler pipe that gets very hot, could heat affect the AFM plug or should it be ok?
If it is a problem with the AFM would my check engine light flash?
Would the check engine light flash on and off or stay LIT. I did check for error codes anyway and I got code 14, not sure if this code had been stored for a long time or popped up when the car turned off, I lost my 1g-ge manual so I cant look it up.
Another thing I noticed, when my car turned off, all the lights on the dash came on at once, oil temp, water temp, check engine, etc. This might be a good clue to something probably ignition related, I have no idea.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

Inspect all the wires between the distributor and ignitor and the ecu.
Daily Driver: Red Ae93 Project: My TA22 - now with 3s-gteD is for Disco, E is for Dancing
I did that, Checked all visible connections that I could get to, also made sure all connectors were tight. People suggested it could be a connection in the fuel pump, where is the fuel pump located in the 1g-gte and how should I go about checking the wiring for it?
By the way the engine cut out when I let my foot off the gas after accelerating (no i wasn't doing skids, driving on highway). Like I mentioned in the post before when the engine turns off all the dash lights come on, is this normal?
I dont know if this is possible, but by any chance could it be anything to do with my ignition barrel?
Thanks.
Ignition switch contacts - search for posts by me in the tech section regarding ignition barrel, ignition switch, engine turning off, i've re-posted it a few times.
