climb in the window and HTFU
a mate had a problem with his corolla, it wouldnt unlock, we got a pair of plyers onto the lock and lifted it, got the door open and took the door trim off,
the problem was a centeral locking motor that was seized, could something like this be the problem?

could you not paint it orange with a rising sun on the roof (and japanese 01 on the side) to make an oriental General Li.
and if you have seen the latest Dukes of Hazard Movie you would know that Bo and Luke "converted" to Japanese... Just need some home made Saki in the back seat.... and a Samurai sword and you're done...
Oh and weld up the other door
Yeeee Haaaaa ... (or would it be Banzai?)
The other side is a mirror image, so check it out for the mechanism & lever/s that do it. Practice. With the window down that stuff is all readily available with an length appropriate screwdriver or coat hanger.
If it's not like those newer latches that really grab & encircle the door pillar striker plate, Ralph Nader stuff, then getting at the hinges with the removal of the fender is easy with some cars fenders/wings, something to avoid on others.

Shelve 'em..... ie: use the back door.

Taking off the front quarter should give access to the door hinges?Originally Posted by takai

so far ive just given it 1/2 a can of wd40, will let that soak thru and hopefully give it a crack tomoz.....
cant wait to get into it and rip out all the vaccuum central locking shit thats in there!
Maybe that is the problem, the door is simply locked.
have someone on the key and someone on the interior lock at the same time, and work it a bit. some door latches wont operate if the lock is "halfway" between lock and unlock...
all of the toyotas ive taken front quarters off needed the door open to undo the bolt thats at the bottom of the a pillarOriginally Posted by Bananaman
maybe take off all the bolts except for that one and gently lift the panel enuff to get in there i suppose, but it wont be fun.

I think every car i've worked on is the same in regards to taking the guard off, you need to have the door open, but in alot of cases on most cars, you can access the hinge bolts via the wheel arch behind the guard as said in my last post.Originally Posted by rob

Blake, according to the good Toyota book, you could have a "probrem" with the vacuum control valve. However if the car has not been run for a while, maybe you should turn the old 4M over. AW shit, you have no engine in the bay at the moment. Find a vacuum source on a car close by, and run a long length of vac hose to one of the numerous vacuum fittings in the coupe.
