anyway, i think the new rules are awesome

for cars between 800 and 1100kg, the new NA multiplier is 4!!!! not 3...

so as long as AW11 weighs more than 1000kg, it's legal... soon...

however, for heavier cars, the FI multiplier is dwn to 3.. which is probably more sensible anyway

I realise that there are better, easier, etc options out there, and I'm filling in the forms for approval right now. I just wanted to know if someone out there had a little nugget of information, and that spacer plate was pure gold PM going out, and some +rep

Weight on my rego papers is 1020kg, but I think thats the NA weight, the GZE is closer to 1100.

Just out of curiosity, what makes the V6 so much easier to do, and how much is one worth?

And as to the 'why', the answer is: Because I can (or I hope I can), it's rare, and there's not another one in WA. For that matter, I've heard there isn't even a 1.5 over here

one of the reasons the v6 is easier is because to fit the V8 you have to cut away the rear firewall into the boot, check with an engineer, this may not be allowed without extra chassis strength. a v6 will fit right in there and has been done plenty of times, see www.mr2oc.com there is a whole section on those forums dedicated to aw11's with a v6.

PM gunmetal, he is thinking about this same thing, but his is gonna be track use only

V6 (3VZ-FE) would be easier as its a narrower angle V, (90deg vs 60deg for a 1UZ) therefore its a narrower engine and you have more room to play with. Its also 1 cylinder shorter than a V8 and I'll bet every mm you can save in that engine compartment will be worth several hours of messing about. Plus as I said earlier, it'll leave room for a supercharger/turbo. I can't think of many more arousing experiences than howling along a deserted backroad in a Supercharged V6 AW11... but thats just me.

    people say lots of things...
not much changes for worse for us NSWaliens.. just make the process much more transparent instead of Con and Joe determining if it passes or not.. check out the checklists... they rock
will also be much better for Mr Plod confrontations..

Ok, so what sort of money would I be looking at for the v6 conversion? ...but my heart still lies with the 1UZ. Damn that'd be sexy.

How long is a piece of string?

Think of an unreasonably large figure, then triple it. Seems to work for most engine conversions.

Thanks, I found that a while ago off another link Useful stuff there, but people seem to dissagree and stuff is all over the place. I'll have a read of that swap posted before. I imagine the engines are still worth a fair bit tho, I can get this 1UZ for effectivley nothing.

    Isn't it a 70cm cube? It's pretty damn wide.
