this is for track right?
Ok, first things: I don't need to be told how stupid this idea is, I know. It has been done before, but still. This came about because I'm looking at engine upgrades for AW11, and i'm not really a fan of boosted motors in this kind of application. That, and a friend wants to offload a 1UZ... I know this is going to be hard, I was just wondering HOW hard. I do have access to very hi-end machining facilities, which will come in handy. Other than that, I beleive you NEED to use an aftermarket ECU as the dizzys on the end of the camshafts don't clear the engine bay, plus you need to move the gearbox 75mm accross or something. Ok...let the information flow

This is for street, motorkhana, track...everything. If I do something, it has to be neat and road-drivable.

Can i suggest you start reading here.
Is a modern (e.g. not pushrod) Northstar engine (already East-west configured) being slowly shoe-horned into a AW11.
He's had 103 working days on it - but i think the project has been going since November 2003.
I'd suggest you grab a big pot of cofee and go thru Bill Strong's web site to give yourself an idea of what you're facing.
anyway - good luck!!
Have a look at http://www.clubaw.co.nz/ there is someone there who was working on the conversion.
make sure u speak to afew different engineers
they are reviewing the laws and they might change within the next 6 months
but the only way u will be allowed to do this is if the aw11 weights over 1100 kgs
if the rumours of what the new laws are actually take effect its goin to fuk the whole industry
Ok, so it'll have to weigh 1100kg under the NEW laws, or the old ones? Gah. Bloody politics. As if doing this kind of stuff wasn't hard enough...
