Where do i hook them to the suspension components???
also at thechuckster... and Jason
i couldnt find the earthing from block to chassie (remember this is a kit car, so its fibreglass..)
im pretty sure this is one on the intake side, but i couldnt see it to confirm it.. its dark as fuck in there, and i couldnt see it from under the car, from the top, or from inside the car.
definatly sure there isnt one on the exhaust side of the engine. Jason, it might be an idea to really sus that out, and i reccomend putting atleast two zero gauge earthing leads from block to chassie.
Where do i hook them to the suspension components???
I'm in Conondale (off Aherns Road) - had intended to ring/visit today but was busy clearing gardens and chasing the neighbours' cows off the road into their paddock ... am living a very rural existence at the moment
if using the chassis rails as earth, put one end under a bolt that's not being used by a suspension bush - or just use the bolt on the chassis side of the engine mount - it should be metal-to-metal contact
edit: sorry - connection was right about circuit opening relay - drives fuel pump only (was thinking of my setup). If the injectors are loosing power after changing from Start back to Ignition, then they've wired up the ignition key wrong (Injectors should be powered off the IG2 output of the switch or a relay controlled by it) or have patched into the loom incorrectly.
as far as i know with all 4age's ive worked on, there is no relay for the injectors...
basically everything is controlled by the ECU, and you should only have, start, ign, ground, fuel pump etc etc wires going elsewhere....
this is the annoying part... wires are taken and tapped into from random places and put simply its a nightmare.
edit: thechuckster, if you're able to give Jason a help on a weekend, i may be able to meet you there too and we might be able to basically strip his wiring and start again
Ohhhh That Would Be Sweeeet
I live in maroocyhdore and have a well stocked fridge
And if you like classis cars, then you will like my old mans collection

sounds sensible - i'll tentatively put my hand up for next weekend - will confirm on monday.
If the loom is like a 7MGE, they could have patched everything in at the chassis interconnect.
fwiw: a lot of MSefi folks come unstuck by using an output from the ignition key that's not powered when cranking the motor (e.g. IG1 on EFI Toyota ignition switch). Whereas the IG2 output has 12V at cranking (trying to start) and running. The fact that it runs when cranking and then not afterwards suggests that power to injectors is wrong.
Do you know what car donated the Ignition switch?
Great guys, would Sunday suit anyone??
Ill be around most of the day sunday
i will have to see when im free... ill report back on like thursday or something as i may or maynot have some things that need attending.
