Hi,
another way to get old unserviceable cups out if access to use a hammer and drift is difficult (and you have an arc welder or similar) is to run a bead of weld around the cup bearing face. This in effect shrinks the bearing cup and it comes out easily.

Suggest you don't use a hammer on bearings it can be dangerous (hitting two hardened surfaces together is not good practice, it can damage the bearing or if hit hard enough fragments of hardened steel can fly off and cause injury. Should use a soft hammer (with copper or polymer inserts) directly on bearings or if using a hammer and a drift the drift should be softer than the bearing (m/steel or brass typically). Only mentioned this for those who may be new to fitting bearings as I'm sure the majority of Toymodders already know this.

I find that a 3/8" 300mm extension is pretty good for reaming out the old bearings. Just do it with the hub on the concrete floor so that any bits which fly off have at least one ricochet to lose energy.... Oh and safety glasses are good.

this is what i do for my bearings,
Go down to the local auto place who have the proper install/removal tools (would buy them but there like 500 bux a set) get them to do it cost very little for the assureance that they are in properrly and well packed and if they fail you can go kick someone else ass instead of ur own

I went down to the work shop in the end, they gave me a punch a hammer and steel tube to elevate the hub off the ground, so that the bearing will fall straight through...

Took me a fair while, but eventually got there. Didnt do any damage to anyone or anything... Barring ofcourse the steel punch that i had to shave flat every 3-4 goes. So it ended up pretty stubby by the end...

I changed my bearings on saturday and it was easy as piss i dont know why you guys had to go to so much effort. we are talk the bearings in the hubs right??

I used a 300mm extension like mentioned to get the bearing and outer seal out first, then find the recessed part with the extension hold it in there(therefore on the back of the bearing cup) then keep wacking it once on either side so the old bearing cups comes out evenly.
Just do it on a timber board or box. If you need to have so the hub isnt fully touching the ground get two pieces of timber and sit them over something. Then put the hubs on that and wack away.

Clean ALL of the bearing grease out of everything. Grease up the bearings by putting the grease on the lower part of your palm(on ur opposite hand) Then grab the new bearings and sort of scrap it untill you see little bumps of grease come through the other side. then run some grease around the front back and sides.

When putting the new cups in grease it up and tap it in with a block of timber untill it sits flush then again use the 300mm extension bar to continue to tap them in.
Then hit it evenly on each side and keep feeling how far along untill it stops against the inside of the hub.
When fitting the larger bearing in make sure you put it in first before tapping in the new outer seal with timber again untill flush or very close too.
Then put heaps of grease inside the hub and smuther the stub axel in grease too. Then fit.

The other trick to putting the new cups back in is to use the old bearing cup upside down ontop. That gives you something which has a bit more surface area on which you dont care if you mash up. Also commonly used with a press.... which reminds me that i really want a new press.

does anyone know what other 5x114.3 hub will fit the rt132 stub axle, ms65 are impossible to find and i cant seem to find any other info on this topic.

You pretty much have buckleys and none mate. There was a rumour that some old holden one would fit for 5stud, but thats not 5x114.3

there is a thread somewhere about this, but i can't find it... lists a handful, i think HQ hubs/discs fit since they fit the MS65 unmodified, but i think the MS65 is the only one to fit as easily as standard... i've JUST come inside from test fitting my own... if someone is willing to supply a MS85 strut and LCA i'd consider seperating with my second set of hubs...

or try contacting 'crownman' i think he mentioned he has some hubs

100% HQ do fit.

i think upto vk fit as they all are 1 piece hub and disc combos (ie hub is attched permanently to disc)

they have same bearings as the xt130 etc and i have physically fitted one to a strut.

problem is hq disc doesnt fit in the hilux calipers.

and your also limited as to the variety of rotors... i think i enquired with DBA about the HQ, and they said they were discontinued or that may have just been the slotted/vented species.... i could be wrong though...

personally i'm looking at going for skyline callipers, and rotors, on MS65 hubs... so far as i can tell, it should all bolt up with relative ease, just need a bracket to move the calliper further out, and machine the rotor center, and hub center to squeeze a ring in there to fit them up... CrUZida did them to the MA/GA/GZ species, and so far as i can tell it's almost the same story for the RA2's... wondering if anyone has tried, and if so, what problems have they encountered... or will i be the first for skyline brakes on the RA?

The guy i bought be gear off said something about an old falcon... Says they came off something about a BA? Im not sure, i woulda thought an older car. I will try and confirm as im still waiting on stuff from him anyways!

Either way, from what i can garrantee you, they are 5x114.3, only downside is that the studs are a different size to those of the hilux diff. Need to use two different sets of nuts and toools

With regard to the HQ hubs, they fit the same at least up to the VN Commodore. A mate has fitted VN hubs to HQ stubs in his EH Holden with HR front end. Not sure on disc offset, caliper etc though.
