what about something that comes close???
even if it is near the size of the ms65, then get a machine shop to re sleave the inside to suit, or get some bearings to fit. would this be possible? if so how expensive?? only new to this so im just throwing ideas into the air. plz dont flame me.

    cheers Mike

bearings are the same ... id assume you'd use a HQ seal.

but it seats perfectly on the stub.

i got a quote on getting MS85 hubs modified to suit, and the answer from the engineer was "$150ish per facing (ie $300 per hub), and there's no guarantee it'll last because they need to build up the bearing face with an arcspray technique, then machine it back. but the real problem was the bearing spacing is larger on the MS85. so the stub axle is different, that's not to say you won't find others that will fit with less modification, personally i'd be interested in something like an RN20 'lux or something similar.

Would the lux fit the rt132 with some degree of ease, i.e. could it be done at home, or at least with minimal machining. I’ve already got the rt132 struts, coilover kit, shock insert and other crap, but the dude that was selling me the hubs let them go to someone else.
I really don’t want to sell all off this stuff and start again coz I spent ages finding all of it.
Anyway ill have a hunt at some wreckers and see.
    Cheers Mike

i don't know if the lux will be even close, just might be another option, i'm only taking into account the fact that it's a 2 stud hub from the same era, and same manufacturer...

    HQ is around the 5 x 120 area (5 x 4.75"), RX7 5 stud is 5 x 114.3 (5 x 4.5").

i've only heard rumor of using RX-7 callipers, i'd only imagine it'd be as easy as the R32 setup... ie, not that easy will need to make a bracket to mount the calliper, and probably machine the rotor center hole or hub.. will check it out. get back to you

or try contacting 'crownman' i think he mentioned he has some hubs
this isn't the stuff you are talking about is it?

which extends from my memory about using series 1 300zx hubs (of which i can't find the thread for)

    more searching....
bbaacchhyy writes something about the Z31 turbo rotor here

and the big fat arse highly reccommended to read thread which is still relevant (ra28 hub bearings same as ma61) would be this one.

    looks good.. thanks barned01
we need a "top link sticky" save searching for those gem links all the time

on the topic of RX7 callipers/rotors, the RX7's have a much 'taller' rotor (inside to outside) some 67mm, which means you'd need to move the calliper inboard 56mm (43ish for the skyline) to make it fit... which is quite a distance, they're also a 294mm rotor compared with the skylines 280mm... would be interesting to compare the acctual pad/piston size.

    more pondering to come

yeah, been looking at that thread all day... didn't realise the R33, and R32 had the same piston size... that's a pretty decent difference in pistons there... though the RX7 does have the larger diameter rotor... probably makes up for the difference there, but i like the lighter calliper most... any idea what the rotor weights for the pair are?
