difference between ra and ta seems to be strut length.

with pug/hilux/corona upgrade i know ta22 guys need to shorten the strut tubes.

RA have same length struts, hence why i thought i had to shorten mine and why i was looking at going ra60. till i found out ra at xt130 are same length.

Does TA strut assuming its shorter have the same size spline/bearings on it?

Was thinking this might make an easy short stroke conversion in RA celica's.

    Guys,
After reading the original atricle on the conversion it stuck me that if the 300ZX pad fitted the possibly the 300ZX calipers fitted i called a wreaker and sure enough, the dimensions on the 300ZX alloy 4 pot calipers sound about right. just if people cant find hilux calipers this may be a route to take

the hilux calipers, are they alloy? or cast iron...? cause it could not only be another way to go wif the 300zx, but a better way to go, cause as merc-blue says, they are an alloy 4pot caliper...?

but i cant see why ppl wouldnt have tried this before... are they 90mm between mounting holes? 20mm think rotors? equal to, or bigger then 270mm rotors? anyhting im missing...???

Hilux 4 pots are cast iron... quite heavy.

300ZX calipers take a thicker and larger diameter rotor (22mm thick, ~310mm diameter IIRC).
WRX pads also fit in the Hilux calipers, but those calipers will also have the same issues.

i think it will be a case of how far out the caliper sits and finding the right OD disc to suit.

with hat height and everything its a case of matching caliper to the disc .... as opposed to finding a disc to fit a caliper.

ra60 can use these as that upgrade kit is using adapter brackets.... but for a near bolt up option i dont think the z32/r32 will work.

diameter ist the prblem as it can be machined down but width is. how sad soo close. will do some research into a 300ZX rotor and caliper combo to fit.

i had my pug discs taken from 273-266mm.

but any more than 10mm and i think you should be re-evaluating the upgrade path chosen.

there are reasons why brake shops wont guarantee results when you turn down discs.

I have bought the bolt on spacers for the Z32/R32 4 piston datsun (nissan ) calipers, they bolt straight upto my struts, hubs need minimal machining, then you just buy blank or ask for 4 stud R32 rotors. NOT HARD. Anyone chasing performance parts for this set up will have to do so little to get it. Try getting performance pug rotors :| The only slight catch (which i like ) is that you get 8mm+ offset gain off the hubs, so your wheels will sit 8mm further out each side. In my case, its kind of good, only the tires hit the guards already lol but will make the car sit nice, i have spacers to make up for it on the rear, 7mm.

I dont have specs on it all but when i told my mate who owns a R32 m spec that i have his front brakes on my (shittaahhh) car, he was like WTF its light ? Just some food for thought hey, cruzida has come up with a magic combo

hey wats this that cruzida has made up?
i thought there was a r32 brake conversion for the celica, and that sum1 was making caliper brakets for it...?
only reason i like the hilux one is simplicity, engineering, and that tehres so much more info out there for it. well in here i geuss, but u know wat i mean ahahah
ive had more success getting info for the hilux/pug/rona jobbie then the r32 etc job...
